I think I've spent more time towing than driving this new (to me) 1HDFT! Unfortunately, none of the quick wins worked for me. But grateful to a local garage that managed to remove the entire system. Thanks to all that helped troubleshoot. A

The fob has two buttons (black and red) and a red LED which lights up when pressing either of the buttons. On the back it has MPT 1340 - the car and key are stranded elsewhere, but I'll get back to it today and take a pic. Any suggestions on sequence or something to try would be appreciated.
