My power steering pump is leaking. The vehicle has done 430,000km. It is probably the original pump, but it's definitely not been touched in the 220,000km that I've owned it. Do they generally respond well to a seal kit? Or better off replacing the pump completely? Best to go genuine? Or...

Probably the injector pump needs to be overhauled.

Dirty contacts at the base of the dip switch. Pull the steering wheel off, pull the switch out and clean up the contacts with some emery paper. Then reassemble. If it fixes the problem but doesn't last long, replace the entire switch.

The benefit is less dust. The factory Toyota ones are not waterproof anyway, so don't trust them for deep water crossings. Apparently some of the aftermarket ones claim to be waterproof.

First place that I would check is the wiring at the rear of the vehicle, for breaks, shorts, etc. Anywhere at the rear is susceptible to damage from stones, sticks, etc, especially the trailer connection socket if it has one. Also check for badly done wiring where the trailer socket has been...

If you haven't sorted it out by now, I would insist that the seller of the hub supplied studs to suit. If they can't, ask for your money back and get a genuine hub and studs.

Sorry mate, HZJ75 do have disc brakes on the rear from the factory. I have two of them. One is a 1995 and the other is a 1996. The earlier 75's had drums on the rear, and some of the overseas models had drums until right through the 79 series.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't going 180 kmh in 4th gear with my standard 1HZ. Anyone seen a HZJ75 speedo show about three times the speed that it should? Any ideas about if it is an easy fix? The odometer numbers seem to be running about right.

Check the fusible link wire at the positive terminal of the battery. There are three, one of them is for the headlights. It's the one that has a single connector plug, not the two that go to the small connector block.

Anyone? Even a rear diff centre from a HJ45 into the front of a HJ75?
