Safe trip Ben,

Thanks guys.

Said good by to the house and dog, now in Liverpool for a spot of lunch with my brother. :icon-smile:

Next stop Manchester airport.

I'm estimating 30 hours from walking into Manchester airport to walking out of Melbourne airport.

took me about that long in 1997 to travel to Canberra - 3 flights

Newcastle > London > Sydney > Canberra (and refuel stop at Bangkok - where i walked about 2miles round the airport!! to try and loosen up muscles after 10hrs flight from london)

You should've taken a walk to the Patpong Road, there you could really have 'loosened' up your muscles. :icon-wink:

I just saw a DC3 with an outside loo fly overhead it must have been Ben on his way.

Lets do the maths.

DC3, cruise speed about 180 mph. Total journey about 12,000 miles. This equals 66.6 hours. Range about 1500 miles before re-fuelling. this means 7 stops of about an hour each. Total flight time 73.6 hours.

That loo's going to be a bit full.

LEAVE IT ALONE!

Whoooosh....

That's what it does... ooops...

Reminds me of the joke about the obnoxious kid on a plane.

The stewardess said "why don't you ask mummy if you can play outside".

Roger

Hey guys, I made it! :flags-australia:

The flight here was a killer! 24 hours on a plane(s) isnt fun.

I havnt slept now since 4am Thursday, so whats that 40 something hours? Can never sleep on planes. Feel like a zombie right now, but determined to stay awake till 9pm tonight so I can get my sleep pattern right. :scared-ghostface:

Anyway my friend Laura picked me up from the airport and I'm now staying with her until I get myself sorted. :icon-biggrin:

Going to get a phone, and satnav tomorrow, and also hopefully go and look at some trucks.

Driving back I saw so many cruisers! everywhere you look are 70's, 80' and Hi-lux's with ARB bumpers and snorkels.

Feeling very excited and positive about the future!

Sure its not going to be easy, but I believe I can do it and know I will have a great life down here. :icon-cool:

Great you made it.

Let me be the first to say well done.

Gra,

OK, now i got the first "Hey guys, I made it! :flags-australia: "reply in, it will be strange for you to be posting at the times most guys in UK are still in the land of nod. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz

So you guys in Melbourne are 3 hours in-front of me now.
