FOR SALE: KZJ78 ECU and Rear Door seals

ECU is used but works fine. I bought it as a spare and have now sold the Kzj. I am after £150 plus postage. Also door seals for the rear doors of the same truck. They do also fit other models based on the same chassis/body so check toyodiy. I am only after what I paid for them (plus...

    Jambo from Watamu!

yep - what Ben said. Fitting a second temp gauge is definitely recommended and keeping your cooling system meticulously maintained will help. Also blanking off your EGR (then pop the intake off and clean it out well) will help a bit and make the engine a touch more responsive with a touch more...

    Nuts and bolts

you always undo the nut as 'normal' practice. The purpose of a washer (which is usually under the nut) is to provide a 'bearing' surface that the nut can rotate on. You mention undoing and doing up nuts with the impact wrench...I wouldn't have thought there is anything on a landcruiser that...

    Dumb Question .....

I got so fed up with the electric powered hubs not working when the wife got stuck ont he school and I was 15km away at work that I pulled the motor gear off and set the hubs to permanently locked. Then just keep the 'hub lock' button in and you can engage 4wd any time when you need it - no...

    Best Landcruiser for Africa?

All of Phillips advice is spot on, the 78 series prado with the 1kz-te is not a slow vehicle at all and is a great daily driver in Africa. After owning mine for 7.5 years I started looking for an 80 and it took me 1.5 years for the right one to come by in terms condition and equipment for the...

    Any painters out there ?

Nothing wrong with painting up to the line (especially if you go for the larger area upto a panel edge or crease) but you want to use proper fineline tape. This should be your top layer of tape, so you 'rough' mask to within say 1/4" and then your fineline tape go's on last. Then when you...

Just check the import duties on the age of cars- in quite a few African counties the import duties on older cars is substantially higher.

Thanks for the reply. I realise the work involved and have guys that are capable of the work -I am just not convinced that the seat they have is from a VX. Also a picture of the factory install would help to get everything located right.
