It's been a rollercoaster just messaging you and getting updates through Facebook mate, thanks for the link to this. Amazing news about the new arrival on his/her way! So many reasons to be positive

    Lincomb meets 2018

Slight change of plan. I've put my back out so won't be camping. My old man doesn't fancy attending on his own so if either of us turn up it'll be for a day trip in one vehicle, probably on Saturday..

    Lincomb meets 2018

Rex and I are itching to get to this next month, as is my old man with his Collie. I assume it's being held at Tony's place, despite the amended post at the beginning of the thread? As it looks like that is regarding the spring event.. Do I need to get payment to anyone before the date? Look...

heads-up, two and a half LJ78's coming up for sale

I'm gonna do what I can to get the funds together for Rex, great to see you're getting some enjoyment from him though. Oh, and he's running a Dobinson's lift, not OME. Unless you've changed it of course? Jim.

Someone please put Keith out of his misery, he keeps getting phone calls from wazzucks offering £1500! (I did warn him, though!)

Mega cheap Colorado d4d manual, Wirral

Just to add, if I hadn't already bought my Shogun I'd be buying this (unfortunately he won't take a swap ), it's incredible value for money.

Mega cheap Colorado d4d manual, Wirral

Hi all, Mike's father in law has decided he no longer needs a 4x4 and his trusty collie is now up for sale. For some deluded reason he's shunned mine and my brothers advice to price it in the high 2's and is asking just £2195. Be quick because he's already put it on the 'trader and I'm sure he's...

    Hello LandCruiser Club

I meant to reply to this some time ago but must have forgotten about the thread until I saw your eBay ad this evening! Great looking truck mate, I happen to like the two tone brown on these (I suppose REX is testament to that) and once they're on sensible looking boots they look stonking! A...

    Transfer box question

Sorry I'm late, only just seen this The button is normal, at least on light duty 70's. The front drive is actuated via a vacuum, which is engaged electronically. I never had an issue with mine, despite regular deep wading. I haven't heard of others having issue with this either. It does...

    Cooper STT pro...

4x4tyres.co.uk have them listed in the right sizes still, but currently out of stock. Can't find the two most popular sizes listed anywhere else now (265&285/75R16), just the newer "pro" model. I could go for the narrower 235/85R16 which gives a similar height to the 265, might look a little...

    Cooper STT pro...

Some will know I've been a lover of the STT since the year dot. Imagine my anguish when I find they have changed the design once again and I now know nothing about them. The last change must've been 11 or 12 years ago now, and I admit that change was for the better, they were just as good off...

Bob you're a legend, we actually found your thread on the other site http://www.tlocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7927 and all that's left to do now is refit the props and reassemble the gaiter! Thanks for all your help

Front t-case output bearing kdj95 manual

Afternoon all, my brother and his father in law both drive these wonderful machines. Unfortunately said bearing has gone on his father in law's. He's stripped it down and has all the parts he needs for repairs, however it's a little confusing as to how it all goes back together... the exploded...

Anyone tried out the foxwing copy from direct4x4?

It's a 3.2 d-id matey, and I believe common rail diesels don't do wvo too well. Still, I like the look of it and it's very refined to drive. Looking forward to getting to use it properly. It has a rear locker

Anyone tried out the foxwing copy from direct4x4?

Thanks for all the input fellas, really appreciate it. It looks as though they used to use metal hinges and brackets on the actual wing mechanism which are now plastic. It doesn't really inspire confidence, I think I'll give it a swerve. That tuff trek website has some nice looking goodies...

Anyone tried out the foxwing copy from direct4x4?

Thanks chaps, my only concern was regarding build quality really. Is it easy enough to erect? I have a couple of workshops at my disposal and plenty of fixtures and fittings play with, so I'm sure I can make something work regarding fitting. My latest motor has roof rails, hopefully I can fit it...

Not seen it yet, still definitely interested although I now have a few options closer to home I'm looking at. It hasn't sold yet as the guy has been awkward about viewing times.

lj78 auto to manual conversion issues...

I would say your unlikely to find a rear axle with a locker fitted, they're like hens teeth and it's a job finding a runner with one fitted let alone a scrapper. I would look at fitting arb's if you can save up, you can spec the ratios to suit, too.

Occasional puff of white smoke at start

It's air getting into the fuel system. At a guess probably from the injector seats although I never found where it was getting in on my old 78. It causes bleed-back when left to cool overnight and you end up running lean on start-up because of it. I lived with it as it never got any worse than a...

    91 LJ 78 Diesel Prado

Beautiful bus, same colours as my old one (check the link in my sig). I'm told Max Ellery did cover the RJ78 (petrol version) which may be of help, the manual that came with it was enough for me though as jobs on these are largely self explanatory. The electric front hubs are prone to...

    Large panel van

What sort of age are you looking at? We have a 2005 Iveco Daily tipper at work, and for the 3.5t models the payload is crap. As in, by the time staff and tools are aboard we can't load more than 500kgs. For the same era panel models the LWB is known to rust heavily behind the rear axle, but I...

    1993 LJ78 Engine Transplant to 4.2 auto

Yeah Iwan's pretty much said it. I had a quick look to see how much it'd take to do mine. TBH I quite like the look of the light duty front end so was put off. I learned to live with my 2.4. It never baulked at anything off road, it was only overtaking power that it lacked and I soon settled...

Good luck with it Dyfan. All forgiven, although I did really missed Rex last weekend - the X-Trail just isn't quite the same at Lincomb for some reason?!? Cant think why... I never thought about the return pipe issue and agree it was a far-from-ideal setup even before factoring that in, so...

Legal / sensible tyre size for non-lifted RJ73

Hi Edward. What is the exact model of your truck? Can you upload a photo? 265/215 is the tread width (in mm, roughly), 75 is the percentage of the width that makes up the profile (sidewall height), so obviously 265/75R16 is going to be wider and taller than 215/75R16. 265s won't protrude from...
