    KZJ 78 not charing battery.

Hi. Not sure if your truck has the same set up but my mate had similar problems on a hilux surf a while back. We eventually found that the regulator for the alternator was separate from the alternator and bolted on the wing drivers side. Replaced that and everything back to normal . HTH

    Mpg

I would also be checking things like the handbrake is freeing off properly. My drivers side one was slightly rubbing for a while and I lost 2mpg because of it. Had to free off the bell crank as it was seized on the pivot pin. Also check for a blocked air or fuel filter. Either could be making...

SWB 90 wiring schematic/diagram for the reversing lights

Yes I was/am going to fit an intercooler to my Collie. Had it for a good few years now along with all the fittings, manifold, throttle body, etc but like I said earlier there are a few other things I want to do to the engine first like fitting a new timing idler gear. Mine has been rattling and...

SWB 90 wiring schematic/diagram for the reversing lights

Shayne if you can turn out a trailer like that without a garage I cant wait to see what you can do in a warm dry garage! My problem is that I don't have a garage big enough to fit my Collie in and its a daily driver used by my wife. Cant take it off the road for too long and most of the jobs I...

SWB 90 wiring schematic/diagram for the reversing lights

Hi Shayne. Bob used the same plug I used. My tow bar wiring is all inside the drivers side rear panel. I ran the extra cables over the roof to pick up the nearside fog light and reversing light when fitting my upper lamps. If you have the trailer fog light wired up then the switch should already...

    Knocking noise on acceleration

Can I ask if the knock gets quieter when turning the steering at idle and stationary with the engine ticking over? I have a similar knock on my Colorado when the engine is up to temp. It is coming from the idler gears which drive the steering pump and vacuum pump along with the fuel pump. I...

SWB 90 wiring schematic/diagram for the reversing lights

Sag. I have fitted lights into my upper lamps as well. I fitted twin filament stop/tail bulbs into the top lens as this is red on my Collie(used red led ones to make it look redder as they were faded a bit). I fitted single filament into the nearside reversing lens and wired that from the...

    Gremlins in my central locking

Hi Craig. Welcome to the forum. Might be worth checking the wires that pass through the door pillar rubber near the bottom of the door. Some of these broke in my drivers door and caused a few problems with the locking system. You could have disturbed something when running your dash cam wires...

installing reverse cam on chinese double din unit. help needed.

Hi. I thought that the head unit would have a dedicated input from the camera to automatically switch the screen to view what the camera is seeing. I have the meos one and there is a yellow input for the camera to plug into. Is there not a plug marked rev cam on the loom? On the camera lead is...

    Seat options

Nothing wrong with your fabrication ,Clive. That looks really good and strong but simple too. Got me thinking if I could get those seats into my Collie now. Well done that man:clap::clap:

    O/D off light blinking

I have seen the O/D light flashing when I use the diagnostic checking in the engine bay. Mine flashes steady when the pins are connected together showing nothing wrong( touch wood) with my auto gearbox. Not sure if the Max Ellery manual has any codes for the auto box. Might be worth checking...

Urgent help please - clutch plate

When I did my crankshaft pulley I had a piece of 1 inch angle iron loosely screwed to a bit of wood and used this to jam the teeth on the fly wheel ring gear in the starter motor hole., The angle was placed upside down so both edges where in the teeth and the wood went against the side of the...

    Rear seat belts

Hi .Does the belt click when you let it back in? You may be pulling the belt out too far when fitting it. This activates the child seat fixing and will only allow the belt to retract. This holds the child's seat firmly against the rear seat and doesn't allow it to move, much as you are getting...

Has anyone got access to a broken collie ? i need some wiring .

Hi Shayne. Good to hear you finally sorted this and all your efforts resulted in a positive result. I have been a bit busy with work last few weeks but have just read up on this. Still haven't got my intercooler fitted yet as been sorting the brakes out. Thought it might be better to get the...

    Brake wear rates

OOPS! Totally forgot to update this. Sorry guys. Anyway I replaced all the pads with the same brand after finding a partially seized offside rear caliper(bottom slider pin rusty). I then changed the brake fluid and reset the handbrake(Thank to Chris:thumbup:). Been using the truck and checking...

Has anyone got access to a broken collie ? i need some wiring .

Hi . Sorry been working away for the last few days. Shame that plug doesn't fit. I am thinking of adapting the sensor connections with crimped push on terminals with short wires and then sealing them with araldite or something similar. Then down to my local Maplins for a suitable connector to...

Has anyone got access to a broken collie ? i need some wiring .

Doesn't match. The socket on the sensor is too big for the plug to go over it. The pins inside the sensors are the same though. Will have a look at it properly in the daylight and let you know

Has anyone got access to a broken collie ? i need some wiring .

Well I tried to fit the intercooler sensor into the black plug on the intake pipe and it doesn't fit.:icon-cry::thumbdown: Will have to come up with another way to connect it up.

Has anyone got access to a broken collie ? i need some wiring .

You will be able to use the turbo sensor from your truck but the air sensor is different as it has a screw fitting to seal the intercooler being pressurised. The sensor in the black tube is in a partial vacuum as the air is drawn across it. Leave that one in place to seal the tube. You can test...
