That’s very kind thanks @nick_the_fish.
I have just received my 1HZ Engine Manual for the HZJ105 / 100 and it confirms south east from the oil filter but a photo would be very helpful too please.
I believe this is now where my oil feed is for the Turbo and there is a sender for an oil pressure...
AT LAST!!! I join the illustrious list of happy people.
MOT today for the HJ60
It passed with flying colours
Next the HZJ105 goes in on Monday for it’s MOT
Why not fly up to Auckland if that’s where it is and drive it down? Did exactly that in 2007 when we moved to Queenstown. I had to fly back to Auckland to pick up the other Cruiser and drive it back via the ferry at Wellington. A great experience. I managed to drag it out for 4 days!
Thanks @nick_the_fish
Started looking into it and the funny thing is that I can’t find a sender unit. I think the previous owner may have removed it to use the hole for the oil return from the turbo.
Have ordered a 1HZ engine manual to assist with the issue. Once i know where it should be -...
Ok, horn now working via standalone switch. Decided I will order a new fuse box with the integral relay so it will be simple to revert back to standard this way.
Next to investigate the oil pressure gauge!
Another good option for some I’m sure, thanks @albycamel
But I’d like to still have a glass window with internal top hinge so it’s invisible from outside and a couple of the flush compression locks at the bottom. So it’s probably not available anywhere.
But there’s nothing to stop me...
Cheers guys, I’ve seen the emu ones and the Land Cruiser company ones but didn’t like the top hinges or catches that stick out.
Hopefully some others will come along or explore glazing will start making them soon.
Thanks @Grimbo for the suggestions and insight.
I tried grounding the circuit at the relevant clock spring connection but no joy.
After hours of searching there may be an answer as to where the relay is for the horn.
A clip on the net shows such an integral relay. The pic shows part of the...
Ok so been working on the horn issue. Thought it may be the clock spring. Changed that but it wasn’t faulty as it turns out. One pin had lost continuity but it was an unused pin! Anyway, the horns both work when connected to the battery. The fuse is ok. There is no relay in this circuit unless...
Yes, head will need to come off. Once big end cap removed inside sump piston could be withdrawn from above in most cases. But if the bore is too scored???
As per @Towpack and @Dave if you take it for a regas but ask them to pressure test first then you should know whether to proceed.
My compressor was found to be leaking so I have ordered a Toyota seal kit for it. Once the seals have been replaced I will call the regas guys and get it refilled...
Would like to install a right hand rear gull wing on my HZJ105. I assume these are the same as 100 series rear windows.
Has anyone done this and have a recommendation for a supplier?
Thanks
I remember travelling from Lusaka to Kitwe in Dad’s Fiat 132 which had aircon. We weren’t allowed to open the windows because it was just about to cool the car. After 2 hours of arguing about it in 35 degrees he relented and windows were opened. Clearly the aircon wasn’t working.
I would...
Several electrical issues remain since purchase in Summer 2024:
1. Horn not working ( It did a month ago )
2. Oil Pressure Gauge not working
3. Tachometer not working
In trying to trace the faults, connections seem to be via the drivers footwell kick panel junction box:
As you can see there...
Hello hugh,
Good to have another 60 on board.
Yes the hubs are a common thing.
Not sure if you can get a Terrain Tamer rebuild kit where you are but they are excellent. As you said, make sure surfaces are good where the seals run or you will end up doing the job twice.
Its not too difficult...
