In France, speed trap detectors are illegal. Also, speed camera warnings from your sat nav are also illegal. My Van came with a built in sat nag, no speed warnings or speed camera/dangerous road warnings at all. You are supposed to turn the warnings off on your sat nav. However, who does? I...

I hope so. My van has 6 gears. 5th at 80 and it's labouring. So 4th is better but 1000rpm higher, so more fuel used and more pollution! Madness.

I managed to pick one up on the trailer I bought a couple of years ago - it must have been 10 years old then - still looks good, doesnt leak and with a new mattress, very comfy :) Now on the roof of the truck :)

just been out again with straight ruler and stick - turns out I am a blind baffoon......I have 400mm from bottom of upper tailgate to number plate holder. I am running coopers 285/75/16 on standard Toyota Alloys

I got 360 mm to the back edge of the rear mounted number plate light.....

I will measure mine when I get back later this pm just to double check

I was flashed a total of 5 times on the last round trip to UK with my 95 - the cameras are set for HGV's in places and due to the height of the truck they thought we were a truck :) - no tickets either

They have unmarked cars, operated by a private firm driving around taking photo's of speeding motorists. From front and behind! They are in Normandy but will be rolled out across all of France in the next couple of years. Just when they are dropping the national speed limit from 90 to 80 kph...
