@Tractionman I missed the last meet at Fotheringhay as had no wheels and its only 15 miles away. Now the weather is picking up I want to plan stuff but can't, so frustrating. Anyway, looks as though the replacement is out of a 4Runner which still doesn't help really. Its horrible when you've got...
Afternoon all, my Collie is still in the shop after nearly 4 months and I'm at a loss with options. I have a 1KZ-TE (Eng No. 1KZ-0703066) and obtained a reconditioned unit (Eng No. 1KZ-0152708) which at first appeared ok. However, the dipstick aperture is on the left instead of the right so I...
As last year the coverage is very limited for the classic class, I found some bits on YouTube. Not sure where the 90 series entry is haven't found anything
Are there many restrictions for diesels? I hope to have my Collie back sometime in January and Bad Kissingen looks a reasonable journey (790kms). Sounds like a good crack.
I have one of these in the glove box and wasn't sure about the capability until I needed it. Have used it to start my 3L Diesel Collie with ease and very reasonable price.

@MikeJak I fitted the round headlights and there is no automatic/in-cabin height adjustment available, only manual with the adjusting screws.
@Russell Gray 'Nayab Akbar' does supply parts for all models. I just had a delivery today of oil tube/stick for my replacement 1K engine. It does take...
@Bash Sometimes though if you don't know the full history of a vehicles maintenance..... I bought mine with 224k miles on it and it didn't bother me as everything else i.e. chassis was in good condition. I've had quite a few bits replaced or replaced myself and nothing untoward then suddenly...
@Shayne the tube doesn't fit. Am thinking it's only alloy so maybe can get one made. Found a guy that may have one. Two months off the road now an it's getting frustrating... Miss driving the ol girl
So my local garage finally got receipt of the recon engine I ordered (using my vehicle reg.) for my 99 1KZTE Collie and all the ancillary parts fit except for the dipstick tube which is on the opposite side. Is anyone able to shed any light on this? TIA
Looks aftermarket so you'll need to trace the wiring. Does the LED actually illuminate so a switch for a lighting relay or similar? Alternatively take the missus out for a drive and try it.... could be an ejector seat!
@stubas had same thing on a Ford Probe I had years ago. Bad solder joint on one of the tracks and only a few minutes to fix and a lot cheaper than replacing but a pain to find. Does anyone on the forum here have a spare ECU you could loan to test?
1. Jacob and Emma
2. Andy and Maria
3. Jon Wildsmith maybe
4. Rosie maybe
5. Andy maybe
6. Nick maybe
7. KB maybe
8. Mick (subject to being mobile. Currently awaiting arrival of donor organs) :disrelieved:
Blown mine up so am having a recon engine fitted. Got to keep these babies on the road once you've a good one best keep it. Buying anything else now is buying more pain!

Well, unfortunately I've blown a head gasket on the old girl and I suppose at 231k miles its not bad. There is also some damage to the pistons looks like a ball bearing been dropped in! Question is do I get it repaired or replaced? Been off the road over a month now and getting frustrated so...
Mines an FX but I did take the steps off. Finding sliders for a 90 is like finding rocking horse do do so look at getting some made up. The only thing I really miss is a sunroof!
Not sure on the intermittent issues but thought all 1KZTE engines only had the shorting pin diagnostics socket in the engine bay not one you can plug a tech stream into?
Nice one. I got an extension for my 90 that makes it higher so better for elbows and more pockets to fill up with junk! Think it came off a 120 but fits as a new lid.
@Aeroelastic sorry I know this an old subject but I have a set of the Eibach spacers and they do not have a centering lip. The wheels are centred by the locking wheel nuts as noted on the site.
Does the 100 share the same cooling system as 90 i.e. the auto box is in line with the engine. I just had a new radiator installed just to make sure but previously had the cooling system flushed and the radiator checked for blockages as it was 20+ years old.
Got to retract one of my earlier comments. Some of the LED replacements are not a good fit so I changed all my bulbs back to the original. Got them from Halfords, Type 286 (Bulb only) and 509T (Bulb plus the holder). Now they all work perfect. The 'D' isn't bright even in the night it's 1.2w...
Had a new radiator installed by my local garage and while there had them replace the engine oil and filter. When I checked the oil it looked a little above the 'full' line on the dipstick but didn't think anymore about it. Next few times I've returned from a drive I notice a little stain where...
