Would it be possible to use a 100 series 12v starter? Perhaps thats why Mr T changed them?

    A bit quiet on here

I have to say I agree, Cris has put a lot of work into this (which he is doing for our benefit) Give it a minute and TRY to get used to it. As many people have said this software is well used through out the web, there must be a pretty good reason why people buy it over the free ones, lets keep...

    A bit quiet on here

I have to say I am glad to see the forum moving to a more comprehensive platform, there are some great looking features like the blog section that could work well to document builds or trips and trip planning Could the relative quiet feel just be people learning how the new forum works?

    Help on tyre choices

Gary just working through pretty much the same dilema as you but for my 100 I personally think an increase in OD is obviously great as long as it doesn't sap to much power from changing the gearing, but I think that increasing the width is a bad compromise unless you go substantilly wider to get...

Fuel twiddling on the 1HD-T engine

Chris am I correct in thinking you swapped the gearbox, including the torque convertor from the white truck? If this was a manual would you expect it to stall at the point of no more forward drive? If it is not spinning wheels and not stalling , where is the power you have got, going?

    Fox Slinky install... Finally begins!!

Having done some work on a rallyraid dakar truck, yes they double up, but they use 2 external resi dampers per corner Also a simple plastic guard is used to save the stones from hitting the exposed shafts Roger during a trip to Morocco I was lucky enough to do 3 days pretty much exclusively...

With a bit of handy trolley jack use on the other side of the axel you should be able to slide the springs straight in

    I am drowning in information...Help

I am simply pointing out the country or origin. Costs of production will be much higher in Australia than China, a decision to keep production in Australia would not have been made without a reason? :D Also can you give a definition of top quality?

    I am drowning in information...Help

Warren, you might think I have a vested interest in this, but I wouldn't put OME and Ironman in the same category, OME I believe are australian made (well mine are, they have it stamped in them), Ironman are Chinese. OME are owned by ARB and have a pretty good reputation in Oz , they have been...

Getting to grips with 35" tyres

Would love to see the MTR Kevlar here, from reports I have heard not only tougher but lighter too! I know these cars are heavy old hectors, but rotational is the best mass to save from the perspective of fuel economy, but not from the momentum angle. Oh choices

Getting to grips with 35" tyres

Chris, this is something that stopped me running off down the 35" avenue I believe, but have know proof that the recent EU law change on tyres has resulted in the tyre industry having problems producing products that are quiet enough to be legal. Very few of the main line manufactures now list...

    MOT Failure

John, sounds like you will have to patch it up and keep it going To be honest AHC is really not my cup of tea (over complicated) A 'wonder' is being able to run too fast over very rough roads all day and still have the same suspension performance you had when you started ;)
  39. Julian

    MOT Failure

John IMHO think long and hard about spending money on the AHC It might be throwing good money after bad Alternatives are cheaper and more reliable in the long term

Getting to grips with 35" tyres

On the other scale Chris 900x16 would be the ticket The weapon of choice would be the Michelin ZXL, best suited to a 6.50" or 7" rim I believe Ian's green dragon runs this size which I believe is about 37"

    Rear diff lock actuator...

If it is bi-metallic corrosion, it would be accelerated by exposure to salt It is a pretty regular occurrence in the boating industry and can be combated by something as simple as lanolin Or http://www.intek-uk.com/duralac.htm

Glue for repairing plastic clips etc

Justin, thanks for your recommendations. I have found 20g pack of 435 for about £20. Do you think its worth the extra cost over the standard stuff I have looked at the Loctite stuff and your right, it sounds perfect Would I need the primer as well?

    100 v 105 Now i have used both.

Get on with it Paul, IMHO a 100 series IFS makes pretty much the perfect overland vehicle. Most big trips are made up of at least 70% road work for which the IFS is awesome Any time you want to look at Just Diffs front end mods let me know
