    Suspension upgrade, whats actually needed?

Paul I did a fair amount of reading before doing my second gen set up, my knowledge is by no means comprehensive The front end is the curve ball, the different bit over an 80 is that with standard upper and lower control arms the available travel is pre set, the limiting factor apart from...

    Aux ATF cooler configuration

Interesting reading this, for somebody who has the new valve body on his list of to do's and who has had to have his 'box rebuilt once Jon, is the oem plumbed in before or after the rad one? Also would it be a candidate from some form of fan on a thermostatic switch like the Xeng one Jon has...

    Tyre sizes

Yep, currently running that size, have toyed with 285 75 16 but options limited to hankook and bfg all terrain. Dr Wildsmith has gone bigger and done the whole regear think, 285 apparently fits with no lift

Excellent, don't forget if you want OME suspension I have a set of dampers we could have a deal on, no hurry though

I support a little 200 user pc network, a dozen Windows servers all sorts of Cisco stuff Personally I wouldn't be without my MAC, converted about 5 years ago, haven't seen any reason to go back. Have to say win7 is better than Vista and nearly as good as xp which they made at least 10 years ago...

    Quick response needed pls

IMHO the best option for a rack for that lot would be a Rhino rack, I think BOAB are they people for that, they can do custom bar widths, I would have thought something about 1400mm would be ideal Would make a very nice set up, pretty much what Jon uses, I think he would be the man on the costs

    Air bags

I've tried pretty hard to set mine off, including a memorable all systems stop in dunes that had me peeling my face of the top of the steering wheel I wouldn't be worried about them going off

    Green laning

I have to say I agree with the idea of a section of the forum that is members only The trips bit could leave members a bit open on a couple of fronts, the wrong interpretation of pics and perhaps when people are away from home on extended trips (This might be a bit OTT)

OK enough with the pictures (they do look fantastic), I feel bad enough about missing the trip Shoulder now on the mend, only a couple of key whole marks to show for it, I was hopping for at least a dozen staples Looks like it was a fantastic trip, scenery is just as I imagined.

    AHC or other

Warren, It had to go in my opinion. Is it a car or a paddle steamer?

Chris, looks great, I agree a set of tyres is going to be cheaper that getting panels fixed from slip sliding into a tree or two in the long run So what size did you end up with? 285 75 16? if the 35's aren't 35, what size do the smaller ones measure at?

    80 suspension question

I don't have much experience of baja trucks but I have been up close to a few dakar wagons. My observations are A lot of the trucks will be running 2 dampers per wheel to cope with damper fade Most of them run fully rose jointed systems They tend to run smaller types than normal, the 235 85 16...
