After reading through the posts again would I be ok for snatch recovery with my current towbar fitted with the ball and pin if I make sure all the bolts are rated highly enough?
Thanks Shayne. So I need to buy a whole new tow bar. This isn’t something that bolts on in place of the towball I currently have at present. I note from your eBay link that although the price is also given in pounds the towbar doesn’t ship to the UK. Does anyone know anywhere in the UK or...
Ok folks advice time please. Here are a couple of pics of the current lowball setup on my 100 series. My question is: I would like to replace this with the fitting which has the square aperture to enable a recovery hitch and a towball to be interchangeable. Is this possible with my current...
I went to engage my rear diff lock today and found that it won't engage. The light on the dash won't stop flashing although the ABS off light is on as expected. I had a new actuator fitted two years ago as the old one was rusted solid so I am hoping that it is not a problem with the actuator...
You’re right mate. However, because it’s an insurance job £1,000 is labour alone. The parts are all new genuine Toyota which also cranks up the price. VAT of course also accounted for a hefty portion of the cost.
This is the reason for the wing replacement. As it turns out I also need the front bumper as well so it’s an insurance job. I’m really annoyed with myself because I was at fault in incurring this damage which has turned out to cost nearly £4,000. Anyway, it is now away for repair and I am...
Does anyone know if front wings are available from Toyota dealers or any aftermarket suppliers. Had a prang on the old kite and she's needing new wing.
Found this place: https://vehiclematsuk.com/toyota-land-cruiser-amazon-tailored-car-mats-1998-2008?fee=1&fep=308331&utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=cpc_feed&utm_campaign=Google_Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuLGb0anS4AIV753tCh3ioQ2-EAQYAiABEgIrvfD_BwE
Looks promising.
Is it only pics of a Cruiser which is owned by the forum member that are acceptable. I’m thinking of a nice pic I have of a Cruiser Trooper which my family hired for a safari in Rwanda.
This sounds ridiculous but I don’t know. At the back of the cubby box there is a rear high/low heater switch and a large dial which moves from cold to hot through a red indicator. The rear high/low switch is also on the front dash.
This may be a really daft suggestion. However, I had the exact same problem as yourself until I noticed after a couple of days that I had inadvertently put my power heater switch on. I offer this just in case there is a remote chance you have done the same thing.
Thanks for all the encouraging messages. It’s great to hear the endorsement from Andy for Mike Scott. He was the guy that I found online who seemed to be the best bet. I’ll contact him when I get back home. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - this is a great forum.
Thanks once again for great advice. Unfortunately I don’t have the knowledge to do a job like this especially if modifications are in the cards. I wouldn’t even know what to photograph under the bonnet. I know it’s pathetic but there you are. My Cruiser is also my only vehicle so I can’t have it...
Wow! Great knowledge here on aircon. They told me that the compressor had been disconnected and therefore had seized solid. They didn’t know why the system had been disconnected apart from saying it may have been causing a problem. Once I get back home I will try to find an expert to consult. If...
I really am not one to use my aircon but whilst on holiday down in London which is having blisteringly hot weather I pressed the a/c button. However, not one puff of the cold stuff emerged. Regassing is necessary thought I and booked her in to Mr T for the job. Curses upon curses they have...
It is a customers vehicle. It has been well loved and is in marvellous condition. It is getting the wheel arch fixed hence the yellow tape. I had to ask if the owner was thinking about selling. Apparently he might be considering selling once it has had the current work done. He also has loads of...
My 100 series is in the dealers today to have polybushes fitted. However, I spotted this very clean 70 on the forecourt. Nice to see this on a dealers forecourt.
The dealer has been in touch to say that the problem is that a bracket between the suspension arm and the right hand front sensor has broken. They have fabricated a new bracket and will weld it in position. After it receives a coat of paint the job will be done. £75. I’m a happy camper.
