    Sahara Crossing

Morocco ferries have been running for over a year now, just not the ferries from Spain. Current access is via France or Italy on a long and expensive crossing. Then you need to add in to the equation that if you travel from France its a List B country so if Vaccinated you need a PCR test timed...

    WTF Covid.

So theres a highly transmissible virus that has the potential to kill 2% of those infected, yet its just a scam to depopulate the world by giving them a vaccine? Why not just let the world carry on as normal and let the virus do the work? Much like the lies of the Brexit capaign the COVID...

    WTF Covid.

If that link is true (and its well worth looking at how VAERs operates before you blindly believe its information) thats 0.008% of the people who have recieved the vaccine compared to a death rate of 1.8% for people who contracted COVID 19. In simple terms catching COVID is 225 times more...

    Injector Swap

@Rob Cowell how have your injectors faired over the years? Looking at doing mine in the next couple of weeks and commonraildiesel seem to be quite a lot cheaper than other sources. Also looking at the parts diagram on partsouq it refers to type A and type B injectors, anyone know what thats...

Took over a metal fabrication company, what products would you guys like for your cruisers?

The 120 and 150 series have masses of kit over in the US (Lexus GX470 and 460) and a lot of the manufacturers are showing more innovation than the normal ARB type stuff. Recently Acayx in Madrid have produced some interesting stuff. Might be worth having a look at whats on offer and getting...

Who needs a LC for overlanding? Just hop on the next bus....

The french were running bus trips to North Africa back at the early parts of the last century, long before the hippy trail. Dragoman and Rotel Tours have been running overland bus trips for a long time as well so its nothing new. Not my cup of tea though

Our J95 land Cruiser not known to Insurers? Plus the Quality of the Turbo

Mine did 170k miles on the original clutch and the original turbo is still good at 240k miles. My replacement clutch is still good after being replaced, if yours are only lasting 50k miles than maybe there's something wrong somewhere

    New Bronco

Its based on a entirely new chassis that Ford will use on future Rangers, its also likely to get a Diesel in the future from what I've seen. Fords build quality has improved hugely over recent years in europe, not so sure about the US Lot of good features on it put above the Jeep for the US...

    Window tints

Tint is normally specified by %light transmission. Front legal limit is 75% and windscreen 70% unless registered before 1985 (Limo tint is normally 5% light transmission) Most vehicles now have factory tints to some level but as the law only covers the front you can do what you want on the...

    Off road tyres

For methe coopers simply don't have adequate puncture and sidewall protection. Over 100k miles 80% off road on BFG's one puncture from a nail dropped in a campsite and survived some serious sidewall damage from sharp rocks. Cooper AT3's 2 punctures within a 10k miles, the last was an acacia...

    Off road tyres

265/70/16 will fit without a lift, guys in the states are regularly fitting 33-35" tyres but with suspension lifts, upper control arms and modification to the front body mounts and maybe some other minor mods depending on the tyre in question. Well worth checking out the GXOR forums and groups...

Overland build - tyre and suspension

Not sure which springs come with the Roughtrax kit but I had no sag on them with my 300kg load. I only did about 10k miles with them on but some of that was running as a support vehicle for Chris Scott on a long desert route with a passenger, extra luggage and 80 litres of spare fuel for me and...

Overland build - tyre and suspension

Yes, I would have gone taller but hadn't finally decided on the size but the 255's were looking likely. Any added ground clearance is always a bonus and more important for overlanding than articulation or really huge tyres imho

Overland build - tyre and suspension

That's a pretty regular scam on the Taouz to Zagora piste particularly at the Oued Ziz crossing and Tafraoute Sidi Ali about half way. First couple of times getting work done at Ali's I paid more but now get local prices. Whatever you pay its still a lot cheaper than the UK and better work. Any...

Ouch I paid 40euro for helper springs and the same again for a day of welding, mentioning me gets a good discount ;). Chris can't keep up with the speed the roads are being improved and the bad flooding last September caused a lot of damage. Theres 2 Cirque de Jaffar routes, the easy one a...

From the helper springs I'm guessing you went to Ali's garage in Zagora, hope he didn't charge you too much. Ali and Said are good friends of mine :) 235/85 is a standard size so pretty easy to find in Morocco, although tyre choices are generally getting much better until you need something...

Overland build - tyre and suspension

I ran my 95 for years with standard ish suspension and 265/70/16s. Extra ground clearance is the bigger need than suspension height and articulation. On old saggy suspension you will have lost a bit of front ground clearance but not on the rear due to the way IFS vs beam axle works. I did...

Why International Overlanders DON'T USE HUGE TIRES

A BFG or STT etc is the same construction whatever the size so puncture protection doesn't change. WRT to the common sizes, over the last 20 years sourcing good off road tyres in Morocco has become easier yes they are about 20% more expensive with import duties but common sizes are available...

Why International Overlanders DON'T USE HUGE TIRES

valid points, although Dans has some odd ideas at times he has done some long duration remote trips and isn't just a weekend warrior. Big tyres might look good sat in the campsite, showground or for extreme offroad but they are hard to find and if you can find them expensive in more remote...

Are there aftermarket undertrays / guards to purchase for landcruisers

You should have 4 undertrays as standard, 2 metal and 2 heavy duty plastic. Aftermarket options are available from various manufacturers. None that I've seen will cover the sills though

arrests don't mean prison in every case, most are dealt with by fines. Legally ferries, airlines etc have to refund the money if they cancel on customers. I'm not inconvenienced, I decided to stay here. Somewhere significantly safer than Spain, France or the UK for the virus.

Yes the Spanish border closed, although it was Morocco who closed the border with Spain, not the other way round. Then a deal was struck to allow EU nationals to exit via Ceuta.
