King Spring Replacement, Bump Stop to Axle measurement required

Hi uHu, Thanks for your reply, I don't know what FSM means and how it would help me find the height of a standard 100 Series at the rear so that I could compare that measurement against my modified 100 Series

King Spring Replacement, Bump Stop to Axle measurement required

Hi, I am looking for a measurement from the Bump Stop to the Axle on a 100 Series IFS at the rear end, with Standard springs fitted. I have a 100 Series Ute and have lost the wheel arch reference point so need to take the measurement from the Bump Stop to Axle. I had KTRS-95 fitted but after...

How do you search the Forum, I have looked for a Search Tab/Button but can't find it, is it a case that I can't see the Woods for the Trees, I am sure it must be in front of me somewhere.

what are your long term plans for your 80?

I believe there must be more 80's per sq mile where I live in QLD than anywhere else in the world, lucky me :) and they look like they will go on for many years to come. You can buy good rust free examples, for between $8K to $15K, I am on the look out for a good low mileage (anything below 200K...

Differeces between LC 1994 & 1995 model years

No the Face Lift applied to the Australian market too, with the Auto box a new addition was you get to press a button which skips the 1st gear and puts the drive in 2nd gear, good for driving on the beach.

    LED Tailights - Good idea?

Looking at both sets on offer more closely yours look to have 3 rows of 5 LED's (15 bulbs in total) and the other type, 5 rows of 5 LED's (25 bulbs in total) but your LED's look bigger and maybe brighter and better quality.

    LED Tailights - Good idea?

Hi Dervis, Can you please tell me if the reversing bulbs are better than standard on this type, the other aftermarket type seems to offer almost the top half of the unit to white reversing/indicator bulbs, but yours seem less so and for me they look more like the originals (plus my 80 is red)...

    Engine change

If you spend the time preparing the body work, then you could get the price down quite a bit because a lot of the expense in repainting a car is in the labour required to sand the old paintwork down to accept the new paint finish. You don't need to go back to the bare metal, but if you do over...

Importing a 4.2 l diesel from Japan; am I nuts?

You could buy something like this in OZ with no rust and a V8 Diesel, just thought you could use it to compare prices in Japan. https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Toyota-Landcruiser-2008/SSE-AD-4522106/?Cr=11

Wanting to have a land cruiser for overlanding

Hi Silviu, I own a 100 series V8 (275K on the clock) and in the 7 years I have had it my only real expense was a new starter motor (touch wood) The US will have lots of V8's for sale and you would also get a good buy on a LX470, same car with a better paint job and more sound proofing (also...

    HDJ81 Sunroof Weatherstrip

I have the same problem with my sunroof (Australia sun) but I also found the roof was not going fully back into place (warn linkage) so I removed the garnish (which had become very brittle and broke) to get to the bolts that hold the sunroof into place and added more shims (large washers) this...

    Electric Seat repair

My seats in the 80 are leather (Not good here in Australia) and are badly cracked I was going to get Sheepskin covers for them (which a lot of Cruisers have in OZ) but I would not mind replacing all the seats with a set of Velour 40th Anniversary (at the right price and condition) My 100 series...

    Electric Seat repair

Thanks that's an interesting site, I looked up the electric motor (not found the part I need on there yet) and the price was $261.94 a lot cheaper than the Toyota parts department. They also show a Daihatsu with the same parts number, (cheaper) so does that mean either part will fit because they...

The PS seat had the part that I am looking for still in place (so I will swap it to the DS and wait for a PS replacement) here are some pics of the part, I think a UK salvage yard might have it, or I could have a go at fabricating something out of threaded rod

Thanks, but Toyota no longer supply that part new, however they do still supply the motor that drives the part that I am looking for at a cost of AUD $770.00, so not sure if our parts are cheaper. B.T.W. Its not the very big spiders that I worry about, its the small deadly ones :)

    My Landcruiser History

Thanks Clive, it is a 1998 100 series, so one of the first 4.7 V8's. I am looking to replace the body with a 2006 MY white LX 470 (cut it down and place it on the same chassis) this would give me a car which will have a few more refinements and a 8 year newer cab.
