    ahc replacement

ok. heat and a breaker bar extension done that, but the rear torsion bar mounts are proving more difficult. will need more gas i feel as they are solid, or break out the plasma cutter and melt some metal.

    ahc replacement

decided to start with the rear end as it seemed more difficult, anyhow managed that with my trusty grinder. so on to the front then, this should be a lot easier as you can get to everything, ......how wrong can you be. managed to change the shocks ok but the torsion bar adjusters will not move...

    tailgate spare wheel holder

bought the direct 4x4 one, same as john wildsmith used and made up strengthening plates for the body work, i,m quite happy with it and having the spare out of the boot, but can see where a few mods may make it even better. overall though it seems to do the job..

i had a caliper seize on the front the other day, decided to replace along with discs and pads. done the drivers side but when i got to the passengers side i found that it had been butchered once i removed the dust cap. no c clip but instead they have welded the shaft to the hub cap. so i...

    tjm A bar

bought a secondhand aluminium a bar the other day, sight unseen so took a risk, was told it was off a 2004 100. so thought it would fit mine which is a 2000 v8. but it,s not even close! checked the manufacturers numbers and they say it,s for a 100 series so unless it,s for a diesel i,m...

    coolant leak.

checked the engine bay and it,s all dry in there, so it looks like it must be the core. i,ll do it when i get a day off later in the week. thanks for the input guy,s:thumbup:

    ahc problems

hi, thanks for the reply. as for the fluid...the mr2 electronic power steering fluid is supposedly a toyota specific only fluid but after research was found out to be the same as other manufacturerers, i.e. peugeot. and they are much cheaper hence the question:think:
  43. al/c

    ahc problems

all still ok, but think a fluid change may be in order, toyota stuff is very expensive but has anyone used citroen fluid which tends to be much cheaper. only asking as on the mr2 the power steering fluid is the same but less than half the price.

    ahc problems

well i welded the bracket, stripped and checked the sensor, ..all ok, put back together and all seems to be working again.:)
  45. al/c

    ahc problems

can the car be driven safely for a couple of miles with the sensor and bracket removed, bracket needs welding.also how easy is it to move the sensor arm when detached.
  46. al/c

    ahc problems

done a couple of more checks today and found a hairline crack in the rear sensor arm and it seems to have slightly bent the mounting bracket. undone from the bracket and the arm is moveable so i,ve ordered a new one......will see if this helps before major surgery:pray:
  47. al/c

    ahc problems

think i,m going to bin the ahc, so recomendations on either a pedders or iron man kit much appreciated. p.s. the car will be in the northwest for a couple of months due to work.
