    Glow plug light staying on

Every days a school day as they say..... I didn't know the glow light could do flash codes or would indicate a fault.... I would still check the relay as mine failed but unlike Towpacks it didn't drain the battery or seemingly do anything strange apart from occasionally show a big drain on the...

    Glow plug light staying on

Do the following as soon as you can..... Remove the R/H battery and battery box and underneath you will find the relay that controls the grid heater.... it will probably have shorted or broken.... this is a common and known issue that has caused fires ..... Your 1 HD FT will in all likely hood...

    CANbus theft.

120's and 150's are not my thing but I reckon the 120 has a fair bit of Can and a 150 a heck of a lot of it would be on the network.... engine crank is often now through the engine ECU and one of the big attractions to manufacturers is a Can network needs far less expensive copper wiring so the...

    CANbus theft.

I was told the R Rover all you need to do is break a rear light cluster and get access to the Can .... Those who have either been in or know member's of the RAC and AA patrols will be aware for years all the known "hacks" to get cars unlocked have been readily available.... They range from...

Air bag compliant front winch bumper ?

I think the airbag is deployed by G sensors... not some kind of mechanical crushed tube hitting a switch or sensor ... That's why I was wondering what the difference is between an airbag compliant bar and a non airbag compliant bar ?

Air bag compliant front winch bumper ?

I've noticed ARB and others mention airbag compliant front bar work ? My 80 has airbags so if I bolt on a non air bag compliant winch bumper what's going to happen . Not worried about on road but off road is a nudge against a rock or stump going to trigger my airbags ? I took a couple of front...

    Common rail diesel injectors

They probably shouldn't be.... Mechanical injection engines mostly have some kind of "cold start " advance system that alters FIP timing until the engine warms up but this is pretty crude so leads to mechanical engines being often a bit noisy till they warm up. They are limited in how they can...

What wheels fit an 80? I need a cheap set.

I have a set of Patrol wheels available ....they are slightly inset compared to standard 80 wheels but fit an 80 and clear the brakes etc.... Sender Unit? Gauge? OR??

I've come across tractor senders that have a separate low fuel light part ... so it is feasible for what you describe to happen .. Best thing is to take the plate out and just put the sender wire to earth....only do it briefly but it should then put your gauge to full...this will go some way to...

    Pop tester recommendations?

TBH..... I change a fair few injectors and fuel pumps and for me it's easier and more reliable to have them refurbed by a bloke who's business is doing just that... It's not fool proof as I found out last year when a brand new FIP that I fitted refused to let the engine run properly... it was an...

    Odd MOT argument today

I get a lights "on" warning light.... the Mrs Merc has one because the lights can be set to auto so you might want to know the lights are on if it's a foggy day or the like but I wouldn't term it a "low beam warning light"

I think most current EV sales are company funded.... A friend has just got the BMW X5 EV thingy as a company car.... I quote... EV's -Tesla

    Windscreen mouldings and bump stops

Are the Toyota bump stops much more expensive than faffing about and getting the wrong ones ? or are they no longer available from a dealer ? Often if you tell the dealer you are not in a rush and they can put the parts on a "stock order" then they will give you a decent discount . The bump...

Fuel Filter light but clean filter!

My 80 series one is held in place by a few double sided securing strips.....never moves at all and keeps the interior a bit cooler somehow when parked in the sun . The black flock is permanent...... and we sent the dash away ...I don't think it's a DIY job
