Project mush 80 - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club]

Unfortunately the inevitable has happened, this project hasn't been touched in over a year (bodywork in need of repair). I've got other projects to try and look after like a 70 series, old merc, a van, 1 year old child..... so the 80 has sat at the garage with the bumpers and rock sliders off...

I did actually think about dual cab pick up conversion but it would only be a very short tray. More ideal single cab but not very practical with 3 people haha

Haha I've thought about that many times but I think I'm a bit too attached to the old rust bucket and spent way too much money already to let it go to waste. Time, patience and lots of metal bending and we'll get there!

Oil and fuel filters changed on the 70, greased props had a check round all ok. Keeping the 2000 mile oil change intervals like it's had for the past however many years, running like a Swiss watch

Replaced water pump on the 80, bit more of an involved job than I thought. Timing belt off, cam gear off then front cover off. Not Toyota's best idea. Also replaced n/s/r calliper as siezed and the pads while I was there.

Alternator bearing seized up yesterday, do you think I'll get warranty? Only 27 years old with 215 thousand on it. Did manage to strip it and free it off and now it works but how long for? Shame you can't buy the bearing, spoke to a couple of local suppliers and they couldn't help. Ordered a new...
