I dumped the 20/50 oil after a few miles then put Helix 10/40 and after running for a few more miles put the proper spec 5/30 fully synthetic in at least the engine oil is super clean after two flushes :lol:

Thanks Tony that is a great help indeed i did actually email the seller to say should the plate have slots in to aid fitment but he said i was the first to ask this and will need to remove the other coolant bolts to help fitting but your instructions are much easier thanks again :thumbup:

Hi All looks like my Collie is now behaving himself with two brand new batteries fitted and left for two days both batteries are still at 12.6v I can only hope that the drain was down to one of the batteries being dud thanks for all the advice everyone has given its very much appreciated

Sounds a quick fix but i would if possible like to find the fault when you say the alarm was going off do you mean actually sounding or had the siren been removed etc?

Right i have just ordered and identical battery make and spec to the one i just bought replace the old one on my Collie so it will have two brand new batteries fitted tomorrow then i can rule those out :relieved:

I am hoping i have found the cause i have reconnected the alarm switch under the bonnet with but left the radio face off i will check later if there has been a major drain?

Ok an update i have checked the batteries after leaving them connected overnight and voltage in both is 12.30 started the car briefly then re checked volts both batteries reading 12.5. All i did yesterday was take the face of the radio/cd player and unplug the alarm switch under the bonnet i am...

Like i said one battery is only two days old from Tayna a Bosch s4 027 70ah i did have to return one exactly the same as was faulty which is making wonder if they actually have a faulty batch. I am a complete thicko on anything electrical so please be kind i have a multimeter and a battery...

Thanks fingers crossed it does last hopefully i don't get the milkshake as the rad looks like its been replaced recently? i tried to fit a separate cooler on my last collie but the box gave up before i had chance and it was a pain trying to find one to fit in the space available :disappointed:
