    Diesel is DEAD

i had someone bang on about my dirty diesel, they had a electric car that plugged into the wall of there house in a affluent suburb. The electricity came from a coal powered electric plant next to a shit hole suburb

    Diesel is DEAD

In Australia we still have houses with fire places in the city, when money is tight who knows what gets burnt as sometimes it don’t smell right
  13. P

    Diesel is DEAD

I think they will ban diesels in the city, The DPF is the worst invention known to man they give diesels a bad look. Someone’s diesel is going to go into regen mode in a confined space and some poor bastard with chronic asthma will die.

    Lokka in rear diff

I have spoken to some gearbox and diff specialists and they don’t put ARB on a pedestal. They steer towards Eaton electric diff lock, but happily fit either one.

    Lokka in rear diff

Yeah it’s like that IRLGW, I use my 80 series to go shooting, one property is over 4000 square Kms. You really start to doubt your navigation skills when you haven’t come across that gate or track yet. That’s why I don’t want to get bogged no ones coming past

    HD-FT intercooler

Thanks Sea Jay, what to you think about the difference is it chalk and cheese. Some say the pipe work hangs a bit low with the PDI front mount what’s your assessment Thanks

    Lokka in rear diff

G,day fellas My 80 series is all wheel drive, I don’t have the centre diff lock which you can engage in H4 I’m told ever model comes wired for it, does this mean all I need is the switch and wiring loom to the transfer case, then I’m good to go. Sounds to easy to be true.

    Lokka in rear diff

G’day everyone I’ve been quoted $3300 AU for a Eaton electric diff lock. This is drive in drive out and includes new crown and pinion gears and all new bearings and seals. Thanks

    Lokka in rear diff

Thanks for your input Gary, what you have said is becoming repetitive. So I’ll be investing in a manual electric diff lock. Thanks

    Lokka in rear diff

toyota electric diff locks would be great, but I think they would have been a sought after item from the wreckers and 20 years later I doubt Toyota would have them. I’ll investigate and post back Thanks
  25. P

    Lokka in rear diff

Thanks for the in-depth reply, being a majority bitumen car I’ll save for a Eaton electric diff lock Thanks
  26. P

    Lokka in rear diff

from what I’ve read if you drive real gently around town it won’t lock up, as soon as you load it like accelerate out of a corner it will lock up. I imagine this will prematurely wear tires and play with steering feel. That’s why I’m trying to find someone to share there experience all I can...
  27. P

    Lokka in rear diff

They refer to them as auto because you don’t control them like a electric diff lock , push the button ie manual.

    Lokka in rear diff

G’day everyone I want a diff lock for the rear diff, a Eaton electric would be great but can’t afford one. So can anyone tell me about there experience with a auto Lokka, what are there manners like around town on the bitumen. Would you go that way again or save for a manual electric diff...

    Flushing heater core

what I’m trying to do is get rid off every last drop and start fresh with the new radiator, but as most of the learnedly colleges say on here don’t get to stressed over it as what residue is left is insignificant if using the same coolant. Thanks

    Flushing heater core

My mate has a 2006 Toyota 78 series, we changed the diff oil used Penrite oil with the specification listed in the manual 85/90 LSD. The diff started to play up around corners had us baffled went to all the gurus they couldn’t find anything. Thought it’s a long shot but let’s drain the diff...

    Bone Tactical

I used to think that way but after seeing so many late model stuff with 600K un touched cars I’m for technology. Maybe the geography of where he goes but in Australia Toyota rules easy to get anything anywhere. Toyota is a generic name for FWD, you need a Toyota to get there.
  34. P

    Flushing heater core

Yeah mate it’s a new radiator going in. Old hoses are swollen at the clamp, so they will be new. I’m at the extreme end of servicing my Toyota I don’t have grog or smokes can’t find a woman that what’s to clean my Toyota so plenty of disposable money for servicing.
  35. P

    Flushing heater core

Yes it has the rear heater as well, so you mean run the heaters and keep topping up the radiator as needed for a while Thanks
  36. P

    Bone Tactical

    Flushing heater core

thanks mate, that’s exactly what I will do. I will buy coolant as concentrate and add it to a ratio for twelve litres and what ever distilled water it takes to fill the system minus what’s left in the core so be it Thanks

    Flushing heater core

Thanks mate, I was going to do that. I live in Adelaide Australia and we have the worst tap water on the planet bar some of the third world countries so I would like to get the tap water out before refilling. I guess I could get a submersible pump and flush with distilled water, or maybe just...
