Thanks Rodger, I was thinking more about the fit, I was going to do the job myself, so I wanted to get away from any modifications, just a plug and play. I've been down the "make it work"route, making adapter plates and all that nonsense before with land rovers, don't want to start all that...

Thanks for the info, going to have to look at the dipstick hole see whats going on. Its just beginning to send white smoke signals out the back . I have a good idea which cylinder is misbehaving. Gonna start collecting parts for a cylinder head gasket change and possible a cylinder head change.

Is there a BJ73 with a coil spring, Conversion ?

Thinking about doing an engine swap onmy BJ73, alternatives right now are the 12 HT and the 13BT. Any thoughts?

Hmmmm, the research that I have gathered is pointing in the same direction. I am going to have to make provisions for an engine swap.

The vehicle (BJ73)that I bought seems a bit high, and before doing anything to the suspension I would like to check whether the vehicle has been lifted or not. Are they are definitive measurements to check for to see if any modification have been made ?

It has two batteries, but I looked at the headlamps and they had 12V moulded on them. Going to take some decents pics!

So I just spoke to a mechanic and he gave me the whole doom gloom and despair story of the VM 2.5 5 cylinder engine. He told me the engine sounded like **** , and that I should throw it out and replace it with something else ....I was hoping for some kind of compression test or something. This...

Hi, I am considering replacing the front crankshaft oil seal and changing the head gaskets at the same time on my bj73. Does anyone have a manual paper/pdf or knows where i might be able to find one ?

Hi, Just recently acquired a 1988 BJ73 with the european VM engine in place. Engine runs fine, i just want a tad more power. Are there any simple bolt on upgrades that can provide this extra power, or more involved mods. Not looking to change the engine right now. Thanks
