Central locking stopped working from key

Good morning all and Merry Christmas. My land cruiser has given me a gift, non functioning central locking from the remote! Started off a month ago when it sometimes wouldn't unlock unless I was next to the car but always worked. Now it won't even do that if standing next to the car trying to...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Replaced the rear brake pads and continued trouble shooting the new stereo unit. It now plays sound through the rear speakers and the driver's side front. Nearside still not working but I can live with it for now.

Installing a double din stereo and reversing camera

Hi all, Back again with another question and some advice after trying to find an answer on here and elsewhere on the web. I have bought a £60 double din touchscreen android head unit from eBay and being an unbranded Chinese device the instructions are less than helpful. I also cannot find a...

    Rust on the 100

Got to get my windscreen replaced tomorrow due to the chip in the driver's eyeline being larger than 10mm and MOT being due this month. Most irritating as I have rust along the top of the windscreen in 3 patches and a small bubbling on the driver's side pillar. I hope the fitter doesn't baulk...

    Rust on the 100

Underside prior to Dynax S50 by WoolyFox posted Aug 27, 2019 at 8:28 PM Took this before doing my first application of Dynax S50, great stuff by the way but does drip. My experience with rust isn't extensive as none of my previous cars had it appear on the MOT history. I have bubbling around...

    Underside prior to Dynax S50

Not much experience with rusty undercarriages but it passed the hammer test on the main chassis members and various suspension mounts and bushes. Axles are corroded and will treat with old ATF when I do the ATF flush later this year.

OSF sidelight not working, new bulb

Was the simplest of repairs, trust Lucas bulbs at your peril. The brand new Lucas bulb I put in had shorted and smoked out the bulb. New bulb put in, this time Halfrauds own brand, and no issues at all, sidelights now work. Front fogs still don't work but suspect the amount of sand/gravel in the...

OSF sidelight not working, new bulb

Thanks for the reply, will take a look this afternoon and test the wires and such. I hope it's not the bulb holder itself!

OSF sidelight not working, new bulb

Hi all, MOT is fast approaching and I am getting the car ready for this event. One small niggle that has been hard to sort out is the driver's side sidelight doesn't work but dipped, full beam and indicator all work. I suspect it's wiring or a dead bulb holder as I put a new bulb in and still...

Rubbing noise from OSF wheel when turning left and other steering maladies

A small update - got it into my local garage for them to diagnose the brake noise and was told the OSF brake was seized and both front pads were down to metal. They also said I got it early enough that the discs themselves are still good. Overall they will fit a new OSF caliper (I guess it's...

    Rust on the 100

Apologies for the thread resurrection but wanted a few pointers on the rust problem. My 100 does indeed has a rust on the chassis but it seems to be mostly surface rust (bright red/orange instead of the dull brown). Where should I be looking for the serious rust spots on the chassis? I have...

Rubbing noise from OSF wheel when turning left and other steering maladies

Thanks for the info, will take a look this weekend or next if the weather is as foul as forecast. I have it booked into a garage on Tuesday to sort out the brakes as I think the calipers and handbrake a need a little persuasion as it had been parked up for 6 months on a car dealer forecourt...

Rubbing noise from OSF wheel when turning left and other steering maladies

Hello all again, Something that's been annoying me since I bought the car just under 2 weeks ago, when turning left at around 1/2 lock there is a distinct rubbing noise coming from the OSF tyre (driver's side front tyre just to be sure). The outside shoulder on the tyre is also worn. There is...

    Handbrake Handle issue

I have a photo to show how I fixed it. The drum and cable were fine so it was time take apart the centre console. Following instructions from the Haynes manual and other forums we removed the front seats and centre console to find the issue was caused by bent bracket that holds the top of the...

    Handbrake Handle issue

Haven't been able to find an answer on the internet so decided here would be the best place for me to start. I bought a 139,000 miles Land Cruiser 100 series on Monday with known issues (some small and easily fixed, others not so much) but today has a new one involving the handbrake handle. I...
