I am going to drill some holes (5 mm) and spray some Krown in hollow panels. I was thinking of drilling all 5 doors, middle/above of rocker panels, above rear wheel arches, maybe somewhere on the bonnet. Does anyone have some suggestions of exact drill hole locations?
Is this 6 pin white connector installed by default in the prados 90 or should it come with the CC stalk? From reading posts I would assume it is installed by default - for horn wire.
I've noticed I don't have the wire for indicators in upper lights. I've 5 wires: brake light (green/white), reverse, fog, tail, ground. There is no indicator wire, it's supposed to be green/yellow.
I've ordered bulb holders. Did you put those knife-like connectors on the wires to connect the sockets to the loom connector? I've found some online. Did you use something similar?

Update:
I got the wheel locking nuts and drilled the old spare wheel lock out. I used 6mm and 9mm drill bits, an old flat screwdriver, a hammer and some force. You basically only need to drill out/chisel the small cylinder on top of the lock (see pictures) in order to remove the whole lock. I...
I drained the ATF and only about 2.6L came out. I let it drain for 24h. I removed the airbox and used a basic funnel to pour new atf into the dipstick hole.
I think I've found the right wheel locking nuts, part number: 00276-00900. They are sold on Ebay and Amazon. Prado 90 has M12x1.5 wheel nuts (at least I think so). I will buy them and fit one after I've drilled the lock out.
I'm having the same problem as @Gorm. So the plastic cover of the spare wheel is held on by the wheel lock and not by the nut behind it? Also what size locking wheel nut did you use? I want to be somewhat prepared after I've drilled out the rubbish wheel lock...
I've got to change my ATF for the first time in my 95 prado. I'm only doing the regular change and not flushing or changing the filter. I don't know which ATF the previous owner used and I'm wondering which ATF is recommended. It came to my mind that maybe it's not the best to mix different...
Yes it's very fragile and I didn't try to repair it or anything. I basically just used some 2 component "metal" epoxy, sealed it up and reinstalled it. I would throw it in the rubbish but I didn't want to leave an open hole in my rear diff and I didn't think of a better idea how to close the...
I got my replacement bulbs I mentioned up there and replaced the old ones in these various plastic bulb holders. Now my dash buttons light up like christmas tree. I'm very happy with results.
Thank you @MODVRS for giving me the idea on these bulbs. I've done a little research:
- 286 bulbs are used for the clock, ashtray, heater control knobs illumination and possibly for other stuff too. They're the biggest: 18mm in length and 7.5mm diameter. These are the easiest to buy and change...
I don't think it would be possible because the bulb is placed in this plastic pretty tight, it seems unremovable (bulb glass broke when I tried to remove it).
I am looking for a bulb for hazard lights switch. I would prefer a halogen one because I'm worried LED would be too bright. What is this type of bulb called? Does somebody have an oem number? It sure is small.
Nice, I wish they didn't install cats in EU 90 series. Mine is a diesel so no O2 sensors and I don't think I need a new computer? I just drove it home and the engine breathes lovely . I'm still planning on getting a cat, but they're hard to find. I think I will take my time and find...
Yes, I've a 2002 D4D and it ""had"" one :). I'm getting a pipe installed tomorrow instead of a cat at the shop if they don't offer me a better solution.
I had my cat stolen today on my 1KD-FTV j95. It's really difficult to find an aftermarket one, in fact I've only managed to find 1 online from "JMJ" brand which I've never heard of before. A local shop has universal cats for about the same price (170ish €) but their quality is doubtable. Toyota...
My rear diff locker wasn't working so I decided to remove it and I discovered this mess. I'm still thinking if I should spend like 500€ on a new locker (which I actually haven't had to use yet) or maybe try to rebuild this busted one, if it will even be possible. Maybe I will just decide not to...
