    New Headlights

Mine are 31 years old and with the highest rated osram nightbreaker halogens in them, i have zero complaints on the range or dipped range. The main beam is outstanding, especially if adjusted a bit high. I've looked at the HID aftermarket units plastered all over Ebay and they just look too...

    crank shaft keyway

You need to do a bit more investigating - as everyone else has stated, it could be the vibration damper has separated - which would make some noise when running, plus you would be able to see a lot of movement forwards and backwards with the engine off, belts removed and a pry bar to gently ease...

    80 Series brake lines - pre-made?

Just a quick question - can you drop a photo of this bit or what should be there - "the proper 'flange' connection to the body". Cant quite picture what that is.

    80 Series brake lines - pre-made?

Happy to oblige, but i wont be about until after 20th April.... if you can wait that long. If you get a shout before that, all good. I'll even put the bends and twiddly bits on too :-D

    80 Series brake lines - pre-made?

You could try Amayama for the pre-made lines, but id be very very doubtful theyll be available, and shipping them would be a cluster ferk, due to the originals being steel with a PVC coating - the length alone will be like 3m and all manner of different bent shapes and curves

    80 Series brake lines - pre-made?

Heres the tool i bought eventually.... its a godsend, but a bit pricey. Sooooo much easier to use and can be used on the vehicle, in situ so makes life a lot simpler - https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637193403/on-vehicle-micro-brake-pipe-flaring-tool-316-sae

    80 Series brake lines - pre-made?

Running new lines and flaring/nippling them is one of my most favouritest things - and self taught on the flaring. However, flaring tools and a satisfactory result vary vastly. I will try and find out which flaring tool i used, as i bought 3 different kits that were dreadful, eventually settling...

    Slow Wipers

Definitely worth doing on a dry day!.... its a bit of a fiddle if you haven't got it under cover and need it in a hurry. But do also check the trunnions at each wiper arm for any signs of major corrosion and seizure. A good way to identify this is to put the wipers on with a spray of water on...

Also worth making sure the linkage to wiper trunnions are not all rusted up as its steel shafts and aluminium housings - can get furred up without lubrication. Heres a fairly scruffy video off youtube -

    Slow Wipers

Actually, its pretty easy, but the motor needs to come off the ball end of the wiper linkage and there's 3 or 4 M6 bolts holding the motor unit to the body - plus the multi pin plug to disconnect. The ball end of the linkage pops off quire easy with a wide screw driver to gently prise it off -...

What wheels fit an 80? I need a cheap set.

Hi LandLocked, not wanting to hijack the thread, but i didnt think there were any adverse issues with spacers. I'm curious now... I've got 30mm all round and the standard 8J 16 wheels with 265 tyres sit perfect in the arches. I've had no issues in over 40'000 miles with bearing wear, or ball...

Hello mate. I had exactly this problem for a lonnnnng time. I thought it was the bushes in the wiper trunnions - so liberally lubricated with Wurth HS2000.... didnt really help... Finally bit the bullet on buying the full wiper linkage and fitted that at great annoyance and expense.... wasnt...

    Should I upgrade injector nozzles - 1HDFT

Good question, but mines tired and stock - needing injectors and pump overhauling after 180'000 miles, and generates about 6psi. I think its the same blower that's on the supra, MR2 and others.... so probably capable of being beasted - but again, if you're serious about going up in tune, a good...

  20. Ciderman

    Should I upgrade injector nozzles - 1HDFT

To be honest, the pump specialist would know how far is too far, but exhaust temps and smoke output would be the ones to keep an eye on. Obviously, more fuelling equals more black smoke, and more boost pressure will reduce that (air/fuel ratios etc)... but - that then raises exhaust temps and...

    Should I upgrade injector nozzles - 1HDFT

Hello mate, I would very much doubt that there is a compatible nozzle that would give a greater burn or offer increased fuel delivery. In fact, as opposed to a modern diesel injector (common rail electronic etc), these are designed specifically to match the design of the piston combustion...

Hi Grimbo, you know what... that is exactly the info i was looking for but didnt really ask the question - if that makes sense! I figured the larger rolling circumference would add a bit of extra load but once up to speed and cruising, would benefit fuel economy. At the actual 70mph (80...

1995 Toyota 1HZ full load screw fuel leak at fuel pump

Hi Rexsin, Have a look at the document in the link, and it shows the full load screw tip simply makes contact with the "corrector lever" of the governor link. Removing it and keeping the lock nut in the same position shouldnt affect anything internally. The link is for a Bosch VE pump, but the...

Thats excellent news... I've calculated that the additional profile from 70 to 75 will give an extra 2" of overall diameter - which is what i was looking for. I know I know.... another tyre question... sorry

With your 285/75's did you notice a huge drop in power? Also, did the extra width have any adverse effect on normal tarmac driving? I find driving mine with the 265/70's, its effortless but always a bit of a landslug when driving up any major hills...

Hello fellow nutters. I currently have Continental Cross Contact M&S 265/70 R16's fitted on my original 8J 1993 alloys. They have exceeded 30'000 road miles now and looking almost ready for renewal. However - there doesn't seem to be any more of these available in 265 or wider. I'm gutted...

    Parts needed for HZJ 80 - 1991

Coincidentally, this happened to me 2 weeks ago.
