Is it just me, or is registering for the forum unusually obtuse - Ive registered, clicked on the visit forum link in the email, the forum homepage tells me Im waiting approval and need to click on the link to receive an email.............
I reckon that at 303k km then your front springs will have some wear, tbh 10mm isnt worth worrying about overly - probably caused by driver weight over a long period of time.
A new pair arent expensive, and if youre having the bottom ball joint done then ideal time!
Ive been running our old Corsa 1.2 on E10, been getting a consistent mpg and runs fine, but next tank will be E5 to see if there's a difference.
I'm really suspicious of Morrisons diesel though, I always use the same garage, have done since I got the Hilux in 2015. Ive noticed that my mpg has...
Tracker, doesnt stop a theft but may get it back soonest - first 24hrs is important as it'll get stolen and then parked up and left (to see if it has a tracker fitted!) before the strip down starts.
I'm looking at a solar/battery/EV charger setup at the moment, like the idea of not being reliant on the grid
I will still charge the batteries overnight if solar doesn't hack it, but there is a EV deal available for 8p a unit overnight, currently about 5p, so I'm planning on topping the...
I suspect that the cost of diesel at £1.50 a litre is having an impact on peoples decision to buy.
The utility bills thing is going to bite by autumn this year, if it isn't already now.
I know people are asking big money for their 'beloved' 100's, but I seem to see the same ones for sale, not...
What state is the atf fluid?
The kzte box cools via the lower part of the rad (well, technically it uses the rad to heat the transmission quicker) and there is a tendency for the top part of the rad which contains engine coolant and is pressured, to force its way into the atf section if the rad...
Howmanygoes
The entire route is indicated on google maps, its a surfaced road trip, you cant lose the route.
Its not a continuous route - to see some great sites you have to take a dead end and then return along it, otherwise you'll miss some great sights. Tbh any good guide book will see you...
I dont mind the Bluegrass/Hillbilly look, like Momma Cruiser got laid by Uncle 'Lux........
I suspect that under its rattlesnake skin theres a fair bit of rot though.
Those twin stacks look cool - you could wire the airhorns in to the right pedal, belching black smoke and the Rebel Yell...
Funny, not discussed rigs, or ekofisk, for decades, then, like a bus...........me and the OH just had a week in Torremolinos, the hotel was hosting a reunion for Ecofisk Engineers! (Philips I think)
These were proper old boys from the 1970's & 80's.
I was looking at a 15 plate Hilux Invincible on a forecourt yesterday, £19,100 plus vat. I paid £21,000 plus vat 6 years ago (when I could claim vat back)
I would sell mine at £17.5 no vat but what do you buy that hasnt also gone up? Even my Skoda Octavia is worth more on WBAC than 2 years...
Thats a nice looking truck.
Im going to hazard a guess that its already had a suspension and tyre upgrade, it looks to be sitting a bit taller and tyres a bit bigger than standard.
Personally, I'd say do as little as possible, what you have is ready to go.
Maybe a set of free wheeling hubs...
Had a Mk1 Multipla, was meant to look like a dolphin from the side!
Probably the best family car ever in its price bracket, nimble, quick spacious even with 6, with seats down it was a van size.
Was surprised they stopped it, but Mk2 looked bland as fook.
That 47 series looks good but they...
This was a great competition for England, a massive boost even if we didn't win - bear in mind that the World Cup starts in November I think the support for England will be immense. 31,000,000 people watched the game, second only to Princess Diana's funeral!
The 'racist...
Not only is the visual criteria applied, but there is also a specific list of vehicles which can be reclassified, and I dont think an 80 is in any of the classes.
Compared to dealer prices that was a bloody good buy for someone, please tell me it was sold to someone that will cherish it, rather than a dealer reselling it next week...........
I'm going to break ranks here and, well, disagree slightly.
I went on Sunday on day ticket, Sunday is cheaper, think it was £9 each.
I wasn't surprised about paucity of dealers - I think this was because this was advertised as a smaller scale show with only limited tickets on offer - that isnt...
Really nice looking 1995 Surf on fb, its on HPOC Marketplace, 95k miles, £3,200.00
It is. of course, north of the Wall.......

We have got tickets for Sunday only, struggled to convince OH that next weekend will be dry and sunny enough for camping.
I hope there are a goodly amount of exhibitors, def feel the need for some new gear!
I have 5mm overall height difference caused by new tyres on front, worn on rear, and it winds up when reversing really badly, yours will do the same.
I run rears at 40psi and fronts at 35psi to compensate, but even then its knocks if I reverse around a corner.
Still, horses for courses, give...
That Brough Superior has entered folklore as the Holy Grail of British bikes, it disappeared after the crash, there have been a few claims of people having it, but in reality probably long gone. There was an episode of 'Lovejoy' about it.
TX - Jap market import.
Doesnt have a locking rear diff, has a limited slip diff - this is actually an improvement in my opinion. Only downside is the lsd unit is meant to be replaced at 100,000miles, but on saying that I havent heard of anyone needing to actually replace one! The collie...
Its not just the UK.
Portugal, long seen as a lenient place to follow tracks and trails, has now turned lots of areas in National Parks and made it an offence to drive without a permit.
We are not fashionable, 4x4's are seen as eco-unfriendly and damaging, green laning in UK is heading same...
Ekofisk, that takes me back!
My dad was a mechanical engineer working on rigs, we lived in Norway in the 70's, he worked on Statfjord A & B, and Condeep (the very tall one!), he also worked on Piper Bravo and was offshore the night Alpha went up.
He's in his 80's now but remembers every nut...
So, got the new one fitted and put unused spare on front as well.
Asda, well, there's got to be a catch hasnt there........but I can't find it! Tyre was new in week 32 of 20, so only a few months old, not old stock etc, and best price i couid find.
Guys at tyre company measured depth, 12mm...
Yep, its true, ASDA do tyres, and even better, they list BFG A/T's......
Needed 265/70r17 BFG AT, getting quoted figures of about £200, ASDA came in at £180 fitted at local dealers.
Saw Goodyear Wranglers, didnt check others.
Worth checking out, you can order them and choose where they are...
Its the same truck.
The 3.0 Kzj swb is a great truck, probably my ideal if I gave up on the 4.2 70series idea.
A full restoration 3 years ago - depends on how thorough - bit like describing a 3 year old car as new, 3 years ago.....
At 8,500 maybe worth a look, but check out the car tax...
Ok, so update.
Believe it or not, I've ordered a single tyre through asdatyres.co.uk at £150 plus vat fully fitted at bathwick tyres near me! £180 inc valve, balance etc.
I didnt know asda even sold tyres!
Perversely, its even cheaper to buy them for home delivery (£160 inc vat...
You're right, I need two new BFG 265/70r17 for the front end (alignment problem led to inner wear) and I cant seem to find any at sensible price - I would even buy just one and rotate the unused spare with a part worn, but am struggling with size.
I have 265/70r17 BFG's on my Hilux - originally it had Desert Duellers which must be the worst tyre ever, absolutely zero AT ability!
I run them at 36psi, gives a slightly longer footprint in snow etc.
Only bad thing about the bfg's...........£180 or so each, thats a lot of wedge, but they do...
Is there an inspection hatch in the rear load area that gives you access to the top of the tank, if so can the unbolt the in-tank unit and lift it out to check it?
Sounds like a fuel pumping problem.
