    Tight Steering on 120

I had a quote from Mr T last year to replace the joint and they wanted £700, £270 for the part and £430 for Labour. You can buy the part on ebay (Claims Toyota Orig Part) for £140. Be careful with part numbers there are a number of variants. Best to use https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/q.html to...

    Tight Steering on 120

As I said its the lower steering column joint u/j seizing up. I am having the same problem. Sometimes its ok then the weather / temperature changes and its gone stiff again.

    Tight Steering on 120

I think you will find that it is the lower joint on the steering column starting to seize. It can be relieved temporarily by spraying the joint u/j with wd40 (or similar) and working into the joint. If the steering goes stiff then loosens off like a 3d bit as you turn it, this virtually...

Anyone changed their axle case yet?

The one listed on the web is for an LC3 with REAR DIFF LOCK. Normal ones are different but Milners can supply. I asked for a quote and if I remember correctly it came in at about £600 inc VAT delivered. Don't forget you will need other nuts bolts etc. You might want to do bushes etc whilst your...

Steering Wheel very stiff when driving, help needed

I think you will find that it is a siezed (or starting to sieze) steering column universal joint. Often feels like a thrupenny bit.

    1kd ftv piston cracks

I would recommend a 3" stainless exhaust direct from the Turbo. The standard exhaust is restricted at the turbo. It should rev more freely and have more go without the worries about whether you might be potentially damaging the engine or not.

    1kd ftv piston cracks

I assume you mean 6 Speed manuals as well. Unfortunately the number of gears is NOT an indication as to which engine is fitted. Mine was registered in Nov '04 with a 6 spd manual box but, fortunately it would appear, has a 163Bhp engine.

    Oil change/Pick up ect

At 90,000 you will need to change the Cam Belt. I gather that it is recommended to change the Cam Belt Tensioner and also the Water Pump. At 90,000 a warning light will illuminate on the dash panel to inform you of the impending change. All this assumes that it has not already been done.

    Found an LC4 But

...or on the other hand, make a holiday of it. Get a list of vehicles that you are interested in and take a week or so to tour round looking at them. Takes the pressure off travelling to see a car and then shall I or shan't I buy it. Then if you decide not you are wondering all the way home...

    Found an LC4 But

Hi, I looked on AutoTrader for you and the nearest I could find for you is about 100 miles away with 106k on the clock for 10k. Price seems to be fairly proportional to mileage done, Lower mileage, higher price. When you do get your LC get the underside/chassis treated and undersealed. I had...

    Wheels Refurbed

Just had all 5 wheels refurbed - they look like new now. No more tyres going down. Used to have to pump them up to 40psi then watch them droop off to 18psi over 1,2 or 3 weeks, which was variable. Reasonable price £310 all in for 5 wheels. Worst thing was being without vehicle for 3 1/2 days.

Anyone removed their cat? feedback wanted

Apparently the downpipe from the turbo is a smaller diameter than the turbo output and restricts the exhaust flow. Better off getting a 3" system from the turbo back. Have a word with Overland Cruisers. I had some work done there in June, Derusting, dinitrol etc. Apparently my middle box needed...

To buy or not to buy? How many KM/MI are too many....

It is in the age range for Injector seals. Mine is a late 2004 LC4 and had to have a complete set of injectors due to the seals recall. I suspect that the one you are looking at had to have it's crankshaft replaced when the Injector seals were done ( assuming they were ). If that was the case I...
