Thank you Frank rabbets, i've taken off the tailgate trim and checked the wires and they seem to be ok, the power is still going to the central locking mechanism on the tailgate, my other option is to split the wiring conduit between the tailgate and the body.
Thank you Chapel gate, sorry to be...
Hi all, haven't been on the forum for a while due to the 80 being SORN for the last 2 years. Going to take it for MOT this week as soon as i have sorted out the rear fog lights which refuse to come on despite renewing both the bulbs, checked the fuse box and despite saying fog lights on the fuse...

He will be really missed on this forum

Hi all, need some advice on how to proceed with this problem.
I have hardly used the LC 80 in the last 2 years and when i have used it, it's been only local short trips so you can imagine my surprise when i got in today to take for the MOT, the clutch went straight to the floor with some force...
Thank you Rich, the one i took out was a philips one so i'll probably get the same, possibly both.
Thank you Grimbo, yes it's a pain, having to dismantle front trim plus taking out the air box etc.
Thank you once again:thumbup:
Hi everyone
Not cruiser related but in desperate need of some wise words, i need to replace a Xenon head light bulb on wife's Audi Q5. Euro car part has got some for £125 for a single bulb if i put in the part no google to search the only one that comes up is located in states at an unbelievable...
Hi Grant, good to hear you are both safe and well. Is it possible to divulge the information on how did you get around the "organised only tours for British, USA and Canadian passport holders". I will appreciate any information on this.
Thank you
Ram
I see it all the time on my street, groups of 6-8 people all walking together. I don't think people really relize how serious this is and are of the opinion that if they do fall ill they'll be sorted like they have always been.
Hi Frank i'm in the same boat but was able to renew the tax with the 16 digit ref. no. on the tax reminder letter you must have received through the post.
I'm sure you'll be able to tax your cruiser, good luck and stay safe
Been in west london since 1973 when i made my own way here from a refugee camp in cambridgeshire.
Funny i used to drive my LC 80 everyday to work near kings cross till i sold my business about 3 yrs ago.
sorry Tractionman that was yesterday when i discovered it 5 minutes into the program and rushed to post it for the benefit of other members
I'm sure it's on youtube or other media were you can still watch the episode
Hi all, updating the situation on this, i had booked to be recovered to london on tuesday by the breakdown service but was getting bored on sunday so decided to have a go to start it on sunday.
Checked all the connections, crossed the fingers and turned the ignition key and hey presto it...
Hi all
update on the situation is that i called my breakdown provider this morning and had him instal the battery which he duly did. Now the situation is that the ignition and all the lights come on but the engine doesn't turn over, there is a faint click at the starter but nothing else, he...
Hi starcruiser like you said I think it got damaged and probably was overcharging, so probably combination of faults and my bad luck, the thing is i'm stuck in Kettering Nottinghamshire till next week and can't get to my local garage to check the voltage and i'm ashamed to say that i've owned...
Just had a look if i could swap the batteries around and put the new in place of the good one (driver's side) and put the old one in place of the blown one but not possible to do due to terminals.
Thanks Shayne That's a good idea but i'm sure they have different terminals, one's no. 250 and the nearside one is 249 from the supplier, still i'll have a look and see if there's a way around
Thank you
Thanks Chris for a prompt reply
As far as i could see there was nothing unusual when i opened the bonnet, no wires touching or anything metals bits that could have touched both the terminals at the same time.
Is there anything i could check to make sure the new one doesn't end up exploding...
Hi all
been a long time but life took some unexpected turns and it's been a rollercoster ride for past couple of years.
Wonder if anyone would no why my nearside battery exploded yesterday as i went to start my 80.
It started fine when i got back from india last week after 2.5 months...
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Trevor from freedom4x4 for taking out time to have a detailed look at my lc80. What a gentleman, i've never had such a close look at my cruiser in 11 yrs i've owned it and have Trevor explain in detail what needs to be done was a privilege.
So once again...
