Weird fuel starvation issue. Electrical or mechanical?..

I had something slightly similar a few years back, the rubber diaphragm in the top of the fuel filter housing had perished and started letting air in. Your symptoms sound the same, cutting out going downhill, and not starting with a warm engine. Installed a whole new fuel filter housing and it's...

    1KZ-TE non start problem

Is it auto or manual box? If manual does it start with a bump start? Any clicking noises from the starter before this?

Clutch slipping, how long do they last?

Clutch was replaced on my Cruiser approx 90,000 miles ago. It does some trailer work, probably at most 10% of the 90k miles was with a trailer. I am guilty of slipping it when using reverse. Noticed recently when accelerating hard in 4th gear it's slipping a bit. Just wondering what's the normal...

What MPG do you get out of your 90?

Check the brakes, especially the hand brake isn't stuck on.

Decided I Will Sell After All

Been following your trials and tribulations over the last few weeks. I think it was the sump plug that might have been the final nail in the coffin. GLWS and hopefully you'll find a good one in the future. Been welding, wire brushing and painting my chassis so have an idea what you went through...

Thickness of metal required for cill repair patches?

I thought it was just the chassis welds that had to be done before the test, thanks for the headsup about the cills. Time for some upside down welding practice:obscene-drinkingfa:. Pic below is chassis weld before paint

    100 series headlamps gremlin

A tin tent LOL, Jeremy would love that. What I don't understand is why only the headlights come on? Hopefully someone else knows more than we do.

    100 series headlamps gremlin

I have the same problem, intermittently, usually after it rains. I think the fault in mine is where the trailer socket wires were joined into the main loom. I think moisture gets in there causing a short. When it happens I open the fuse cover and just take the headlight (10 amp) fuses out when I...

Thickness of metal required for cill repair patches?

Thanks for getting back to me. I was under my '97 cruiser today, cleaning the chassis with a wire brush. Just got the chassis welded and found a hole in the cill on the driver's side:openmouth:. How strict are DOE on welding the cill, can a weld be painted over before the test?

Looking to buy a 120, rust concerns

Tap it with a hammer and listen for changes in sound. Worst place for rust seems to be back left corner (passenger side). I think the heat of the engine and exhaust help dry out the rest of the chassis.

Just curious, would you guys trust MOT report history?

Axle sat out more to one side

Oli.G how did the chassis repair work out for you? I recently replaced the panhard rod on mine as the steel pipe around the bushing had broken. Rust in the chassis seems to be a big issue on these, but why is it always the back half?

What MPG do you get out of your 90?

1997 3.0 TD SWB with five speed manual box. Getting about 25-27 MPG. That's with some trailer work, very little motorway driving and mostly a lot of stop start short trip driving in and out of fields on a farm. What I find really cuts down on fuel economy is the amount of junk (weight) in the...

    Hot weather and head gaskets

Was in my local oil and filter place yesterday and noticed a 'new to them' 60th anniversary LC had replaced their old 1999 LC. When I asked them inside they told me the head gasket went in their old one and it over heated. When they were investigating the problem their mechanic said some of the...

Lights coming on when switched off

Thanks for replies, relay seems to be ok. Mine are under the bonnet about a foot back from the battery on driver's side. Having only the headlights and not tail lights on is puzzling ok...... Will keep you posted.

Lights coming on when switched off

New here, first post. My 97 3.0L diesel LC has developed a bad habit of turning on the headlights even when the switch is OFF. Has anyone else had this fault? I'm not sure whether the switch is faulty or if it's wiring damaged. Only the headlights are coming on, not the tail lights when it...
