    Lpukplantsales.co.uk - beware!

Anyone come across this bunch of crooks? A family member was ripped off when trying to buy a small digger. They seemed to be operating around Coventry. Disappeared with the cash (online payment) never to be heard from again. Thieving scumbags. I guess they will be calling themselves something...

    Brakes

Morning all, Time to pick your collective brains (again). I’m thinking of sending the calipers off to Bigg Red next month, whilst the wife’s away and i have the use of her car. So how much brake fluid do I need to buy? Might seem like a daft question but living out here one has to think ahead...

    Died!!!

Damn, finger problems! Anyway any time you’re over this way look me up. I’m back and forward to Aberdeen, working offshore but hopefully for not too much longer - planning retirement next year.

    Died!!!

Yes pleased it’s fixed. We’re down in Ardvasar, don’t know why it’s put me at the north end, though I d9mhave a cousin up there.

    Died!!!

Don’t have an onboard voltmeter but used a digital across the batt terminals. Mind you it was raining, I’d just finished the installation and was in a hurry to clear up and get dry so will check it more carefully in the morning.

    Died!!!

New alternator arrived today, fitted (eventually) and all is back to normal. I had charged the batts whilst they were disconnected and they look ok. Started first touch and now charging at about 14.1v. Well done Mike of Robson & Francis in London for sourcing the new one and shipping it so quickly.

    Died!!!

Here’s the offending article. What a b of a job getting it out. Your recommended Mike has sourced a new one (not a great deal dearer than a refurb of this one) so hope to be mobile again in a few days. Many thanks all for your help and suggestions.

Yep, charged both batts separately 12.62 and 12.86 v Connected both and it starts, but no output from alternator - 11.9 v at batts at fast idle So, alternator it is I guess. Can just about see it but how the hell do you get to it?
  15. Skyeman

    Died!!!

Yes, so I guess worst case is new alternator and batteries - could be worse as all are original and it’s now 112k

    Died!!!

And now I come to think of it, the wipers have been rather lazy recently, which would also indicate a voltage drop.
  17. Skyeman

    Died!!!

Aha! That would shed light on the matter!
  18. Skyeman

    Died!!!

Yes, also thought I’d try starting it with just one connected. And if it’s a no go then charge the other and try that one.

    Died!!!

Hi. Clive, yes my local garage is good and run by a mate of mine so will get down there in the morning. Meanwhile I tried to start just now (been switched off for about 45min) and it turned over very lazily but didn’t start. I’ve now disconnected both batts and got one on charge. Will see what...

Would that explain the sudden loss of power?
  21. Skyeman

    Died!!!

coming home and the last 1/4 mile the satnav display died, then lost power coming up our hill, came to a stop outside the house and battery warning light came on. Switched off and now won’t even turn over. Dash lights seem ok, faint click on pushing the start button, and interior lights dim but...

    Run in?

Mmmmm, fair. KDSS pump packed in a year or so ago, (just out of warranty - ouch!) + shortly after that the turbo wastegate stuck open (broken clip of some sort). Touch wood all has been good for a while now. Just had the wheels done at the Aberdeen branch of the Wheel Specialist, picking it up...

    Front calipers

Just had the 150 in for 110k main service, and the garage (not T dealer, but experienced with cruisers) say the front calipers are shot and should be replaced. Originals will be £££ so I'm looking for after market. I found zedperformance.co.uk advertising both sides, including discs and pads...

    Headlight level sensor

Yep, nothing is ever 100%. Also just recently had a sudden decrease in power, and auto box not knowing whether to change up or down half the time. I had to go away so the truck was left at the garage but they have emailed to say it was a turbo fault - thankfully not the turbo itself but the...

    Headlight level sensor

Long story short - £300+ (!) Also had a KDSS fault. Was a faulty pump, and what with labour and the garage having to rent a special tool (to recharge the system, which is hydraulic) it came to an eye watering 3k+. Now kicking myself for not getting the Toyota extended warranty when it ran out in...

    Headlight level sensor

Anyone had this problem? Getting flashed at night by other drivers. I noticed that both dipped beams were bouncing up and down - very noticeable when parked nose-on to a wall. They were both bouncing up and down in unison so not the motors. Shortly after that I started getting an AFS error...

    Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S (G012)

Well, got the Geolandars, and they've done well on Tarmac - Gloucestershire and back from Skye - so it remains to be seen what they are like elsewhere. Not the most aggressive tread for an AT tyre, but more important that they perform on the black stuff. I'll post some pics when I get time.

    Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S (G012)

Anyone had experience of these on LC 150? (or anywhere else for that matter...) I need 265/60 R18 110H - got to replace present ones soon, and heading south in a week or two so looking at 'mytyres' fitting service somewhere gloucestershire (Cheltenham / Stroud-ish) - unless I can find them...

Sorry for late reply Clive - been offline for a while. No plans beyond tyres at present. Tbh i'm not that into major mods, more tinkering round the edge sort of stuff. I built a shelf/storage arrangement for the back of my 100 when I first got it (nephew has furniture business so has every...

Hi Clive, yes we we are close to the sea, but about 200 m up. Doesn't usually lie for long, had a bit of a play that day which was good, but really must get some decent tyres. The Mrs says they have had more snow recently, and there was quite a bit inland. I'm away at the moment which is Sod's...

    Tyres for my imminent 150

Thanks Shayne, guess I'll just have to tell my insurers and see what they say about ATs. Had the old 100 up to some impressive velocities on the German autobahns, but that's another story altogether:eusa-shhh: Rick

    Tyres for my imminent 150

Well, I've no doubt it's all been said before...but... Picking up my 150 next Monday and it's got weedy part worn road tyres (didn't bother looking at the make as they are going asap). Question is, if I put all terrains on, and they have a lower speed rating that OE am I strictly legal? Had GG...
