    LC200 AHC problem

As I said in my post there is a lot of information about KDSS in many forums, especially this one about resetting the KDSS if you have had it on a hoist (or lift 0r ramp - depending where you are), a lot more information than I can give you. I know nothing about the AHC system or how it works in...

    200 Series with 100,000km...

I've got a 2008 VX with 396,000 km that drives like new and everything still works and jerks as they should. Gives great fuel economy and is extremely comfortable, so go for it. If you can afford a low km vehicle all the better but if I was looking, I'd buy a pre-DPF one.

    LC200 AHC problem

Does it have the KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System)? If so and you have had the car on a two post hoist you can get height problems. It's not hard to fix - yoy can find the way to do it on the net. It is standard equipment on VX and Saharas here in Australia and a common option on the GXL...

200 Series VX Wagon Front Right Clunking Noise

Remember the Supercheap advert where the guy demolishes the dashboard of his car only to find an ear-ring rolling around in the ashtray? This was close to a similar situation by the sounds of it.

200 Series VX Wagon Front Right Clunking Noise

It's amazing how noise and vibration transfers through a vehicle. Things you suspect are in the front can be in the back of a vehicle. Glad you have found it. Enjoy your new vehicle, now without the clunk.

    Turbo actuator problem

It sounds like you need to take the intercooler off and wash it out with degreaser if it is leaking oil. You also need to install a catch can and egr blanking plate (with a 10mm hole in it to stop codes) which will relieve most of the problems of egr oil bypass getting into the intercooler. The...

200 Series VX Wagon Front Right Clunking Noise

Just a thought, if it was supposed to have been done and was missed it should still be done at no cost to you as it was a recall in 2009

200 Series VX Wagon Front Right Clunking Noise

That could be the case as there was a recall early in the 200 Series era where they modified bull bar mounting for the Toyota genuine bar. Your car may have been missed if it is a genuine bar or an aftermarket could have been poorly mounted. There is usually a sticker on the inside of one of the...

200 Series VX Wagon Front Right Clunking Noise

I'd bypass that dealer and go to either a suspension place (like Pedders - not recommending them, as I've never used them, but that's the type of place I mean) or a specialist 4WD mechanic that does Toyotas as a preference. Even another dealer may be helpful. It sounds like either a collapsed...

200 series 2017 model fuel range indicator

A lot of the "upmarket" 200's don't have the auxiliary tank - my VX doesn't, which is a shame whereas my 80 Series did. I've also read on other forums that if you put in an aftermarket auxiliary tank the car's computer cannot be reset to cater for that, thus the predicted km's will be wrong. It...

200 series 2017 model fuel range indicator

I'd be taking the car back for a tune up if that is your average highway fuel consumption. I have a 2008 VX with close on 400000 km on the clock and recently on a trip from Townsville out west and south averaged 8.7 litres/100km using the cruise control. I use an Android app called FuelLog and...

Australian 79 owners - rego questions

From my experience Victoria will only refund to the person named on the rego papers and to a Victorian address - if you bought it off someone in Victoria and they are still on the paper - i.e. you have not yet transferred it to your name, you will not get the money. I was going to buy a 200...

Wiring diagram to install LED headlight upgrade 60 or 80 series.

The best place to find them now is eBay. I don't know if your country has left hand drive or right hand drive (the right way!!!) but you may need to take that into account when ordering as it can make a difference to some lights when dipping to low beam. Make sure you order the right physical...

    Headlights....

Your 80 series wiring will not handle the extra current draw of the 120 watt bulbs very happily. Mr Toyota was a little cheap in the size of the wiring he gave you, and they struggle at 100 watts. It will overheat and burn out, not if, but it will, especially if you do a longer journey...

    Speedo change

If you want KPH as well, most sat/nav units give the speed as well as mapping or any GPS unit will give speed. Some of the Scan tools you can plug in give speed readouts, that's if your car has OBD2 or similar (petrol 80's and 1HDTs) but you may find the system is not compatible on the older...

    80 Series Engine Conversion Query

Your petrol (165kw @ 387nm) is more powerful than the diesel (1HZ = 96kw @ 285nm, or 1HDT-FTE = 151kw @ 430nm on the 100 series version)), also far quicker. If you want more power why not a LS1 or similar conversion, apparently better on fuel as well, without all the other bother and expense...

Probably, I cannot see why not, but I wouldn't offer any guarantees. I personnally have never tried to fit just the single unit. They may be functional for replacement when damaged (we do have a lot of gravel roads and wildlife here) but as a light they leave a lot to be desired. The UK models and some to other markets had different wiring to the Australian models (something to do with Australian Design rules which allow some things and disallow others to suit local conditions), so it could relate to that. Sounds a bit like an 2H I had that had a crook injector (squirting not spraying) which created a hot spot on one of the pistons and melted the top of the piston a little, part of which struck to the head and with every rotation it smacked the two melted parts together, no vibration, engine still...

Have LandRover given up on off-road vehicles?

That's something that they will regret doing in the not too distant future. The Defender will have been a far more reliable vehicle than any Jeep will ever be. Wiring Diagram To Install Headlight Upgrade 60 Or 80 Series

To get around Toyota's strange predilection for negative switching in their headlight circuit, this wiring diagram will help you get around the problem of LED's being polarity specific and therefore not working in a negative switching environment which reverses polarity when you dip the lights.
