Hi mine is an auto and around about 900, but the manual was about the same as yours. It was set so it would idle and still drive in first....for 4WDing. There would be times I'd pull up at the lights, press the clutch in and it would almost stall from the low idle revs..although not always necessary

The gearbox and transfer was supposed to be reco'ed

Cools through the radiator..... Is there a better way of cooling? Thanks

You may want to have a look at Marlin Crawler for some parts including front seals, really good quality stuff. I put some in the front end several months back and have never had any of the usual problems since. They may also be able to help you on other cruiser items. Some patience may be needed...
