1 HZ Dilemmas

I was watching a youtube clip by 4xoverland and they were discussing the known issue of 1HZ with turbo and the conclusion was that it is not meant to work with a turbo because the turbo completely damages the engine
I don't think it's nearly as black and white

Have you adjusted the fuelling to suit the boost you’re running for target AFR? You need fuel to get the torque but needs to be matched to boost to keep EGT in check.
For aftermarket it will be a balance of getting torque to make it worthwhile but not too much that EGTs are too far over a stock vehicle risking damage.
Until you have an idea of what is safe EGT either from a car without a turbo, or by speaking to specialist you’re a bit stuck.

Fit the large PDI cooler - it dropped my EGTs by 100 to 150 DegC pre turbo across the entire range.Going to a 1HD-T will always be 1st prize though

Can't find a kit for a wide front 78

Did you speak to them directly ?

They were willing to send a kit to my buddy with a 2012 HZJ 78 converted to 1HD-T - it just required detailed pictures etc

I spoke to them and they are working on a kit for a wide front 1HZ anyways below is what he said
(We in the process of installing a late model wide nose onto the front of our 6 cylinder Landcruiser which will use the larger intercooler design. We should have that done by the end of the month and then we can get some piping kits sorted for cruisers like yours.)
