I am still desperate to find 12V ABS front sensors for 1992 HDJ80
Carl Webster (karl-webster.5988) sent me a second-hand one in Jan 2024 and I'm afraid I didn't monitor closely enough how it was used by the mechanic who was helping me at the time, but it didn't solve the brakes problem at the time: it seems there were multiple problems, because since then the master cylinder has been replaced - this solved the brake failure problem - and the rear load sensor renewed, with no obvious effect, although ABS jiggling when braking through about 30 mph seems to have stopped happening.
The brakes currently work fine (well, for me, as I know what to expect!): after starting up, when first braking down to standstill, going through about 10-15 mph, the ABS jiggles (the vehicle can pull a little to left or right) and the ABS light comes on (sometimes the second time of braking at 10-15 mph) after which the ABS light stays on, and the ABS does not actuate, and the brakes work reliably as a system with no ABS.
My MoT is coming up in the middle of May, and I really want to keep this vehicle on the road as my main vehicle - it passed the MoT last year because the ABS didn't cause the light to come on during the test; this year the garage I am now using know about the ABS problem, so will not pass it.
Carl: do you have any more 12V ABS front sensors for this model? Does anyone else know where I might get some?
I think the part numbers are: LH: 89543-60010 and RH 89542-60050 (if anyone could confirm these numbers for me that would also be very helpful).
