I have a pipe running from the oil filter flange location airing out to the underside of the motor (1999 Colorado). Does anyone know what this would be for or should it be connected somewhere? I checked on PartSouq and the diagram shows the hose with part no. 95421-75060 but doesn't have a description.

If its the same thing i remember looking at this once and deciding its just a drain to prevent a vacuum locking the filter in place . If it hydro locked you could never change the filter without draining the sump first .

It the drain pipe for the oil filter tray , when you loosen the oil filter ,oil runs out of the filter into the tray at the base of the oil filter and out down the pipe , you should make sure you have the oil drain container in position to catch the oil coming out of the end of the pipe , on the lc120 that pipe is attached to the side next to the sump so it stays at the side of the engine oil sump so it drains into your oil container at the same time as the engine oil is draining ,

I replaced mine with a slightly longer hose as I found the original one is short and as mentioned above, ends up dripping into the tray and making a mess as you drive off. Pretty clever though, saves oil getting all over the place.
