Well after many years of owning Defender's I have all but brought Andy Cooks 90 just a odd fine detail to sort out. This will be my 1st Toyota since having a new Hilux in 1992 I still run a Defender or 2 at work
The 90 will be used for laning and camping trips here and abroad, just hope it's as good off road as my 110 sure it will be a lot more comfortable though:icon-biggrin:

Excellent. Well done. But to expect a 90 to be as good off road as a 110 isn't really a fair expectation. If you mean laning and the like then it will be superb, but if you mean genuinely extreme off road as in 'Carry on up the Congo' then I doubt it but then that's why they invented winches. Now in terms of comfort, I have owned 80's 90's and 120's and I have to say that I think the 95 lwb was the most comfortable of them all. They are extremely good off road in moderate to poor conditions especially with the right tyres. Where they beat the 120 in my view is the squareness of the back tailgate. Tonnes and tonnes of usable space.

Welcome and great purchase!

Chris, why is it you found the 90 series the most comfortable out of them all. I understand why it's better than the 80, but surely you would think with modern electronics ect the 120 would win? Just a little surprised I guess! Totally agree with the whole 120 squareness issue, not a fan of them

Sorry Beau, can't see what electronics etc has to do with being comfortable. Seat, wheel, pedals = Comfort.

Well I thought the newer 120's have some sort of terrain system, eg tarmac so would soften up the ride, rocks =stiffer setting... something along those lines

Nice one Dave, you've bought a good truck there. Nice to see another N44 into the fold, it'll be nice to see another Collie at Barnwell etc. Check the dates for the next Lincomb event, I think you'll like it.

No, I see what you mean though. I wasn't referring to the ride and handling. I meant comfort for long distance. My 120 was an LC3 so it didn't have any electronic ride stuff in any case.

It's got to be a lot more comfortable than my 110 that's a fact oztent.jpg

The Defender is a bare bones work horse that will do more or less what you would expect it to , in comparison the LC95 is a luxury family car that will absolutely astonish you with its capabilities :icon-biggrin:

As Trevor said good to see another of the N44 lot turning to 'yota. I've no doubt you'll love it and possibly be suprised with how capable it is..
