2004 land cruiser check engine light

hello all, have a 2004 land cruiser. known catalytic converter issues (P420, P430). i tried a fix with fuel additive and wondering if there is a way to reset the check engine light to see if anything has improved? or perhaps IF my fix worked would the light go out on it's own?

You should be able to clear the codes (and the light) with the tool you used to get the codes in the first place. If you got it diagnosed by someone else and don't have the scanner, you can always disconnect the batteries for half an hour - that should clear any codes. But you might also lose your radio settings etc.
