Put a diesel in 71 FJ40 so my complete drivetrain is up for sale
£700 firm
The entire thing is out of a 1979 FJ40--4.2 petrol with 4 speed gearbox

I have the engine at a garage in Bedford and would like it picked up there
I am selling it cheap to get it moved quick because it has been sitting there since my diesel swap and I am sure the garage owner would like me to get it out of his way!
lots of new parts and the parts alone are worth more than I am asking which is about what I paid for it without all the new parts
this includes the engine/transfer case/gearbox complete
all the new parts have a couple hundred miles on them only
4.2 petrol 4 speed
new parts include
entire clutch system, bearings, fork, clips, clutch prssure plate---only the flywheel is old and it was turned
new rear main and oil pan seals---preventative maint during the install, engine does not leak
water heat riser replaced the old hot air one (MAF)
New OEM 55 AMP toyota alt
new water pump, pulley and fan
rebuilt carb by Jim C (IH8MUD.com)
rebuilt distrib by Jim C
electronic ignition
MAF ceramic coated headers (over $500)
ALL new parking brake pieces (transfer case drum brake)
transfer case saver brace
transfer case oil bypass return hose
saginaw power steering pump (can be removed w/o mods for oem steering)
all new spark plugs and wires
Ran good always started with just choke pulled, felt strong no smoke, noises etc
Gearbox shifted well
Transfer Case worked but did seem to whir quite loudly so maybe an inspection of this is in order
no popping out of gear, grinding, etc though
If you decide not to open the transfer case I see no reason why the whole thing couldn't be dropped in and running in a day
When I got the motor I was told it had 65K miles on it, but who knows?
