On August 26 2012 4WD Magazine organizes, after a long absence, another edition of the famous 4WD Festival. This time it will take place at the motocross track in Oss.

In short
The 4WD Festival is a fest, where 4x4 car brands, accessories and equipment suppliers will present themselves, but also is an event which you can see all facets of motorsports and everything you could need for adventure holidays.

In addition there will be demos to trial-, challenge-, speed- and Dakar- 4x4's and everyone can ride allong, or even drive themselves (free) off-roading. A 4x4-show naturally belongs to the 4WD Festival: besides numerous new 4x4s there will be shown several special 4WD vehicles on the 'car catwalk'. There are also catering squares, a kids world, live music, etc. All this makes that the 4WD Festival for young and old a full day 4x4 fun.

Old times
In the '80s and early '90s this concept was famous in 4x4 country. It was a two-day festival, which took place at the Circuit Zandvoort (in those days you are allowed to drive off-road). The event was attended by tens of thousands of enthusiasts, but off-road driving on the circuit was banned. Finding a better location in the following years came to nothing. In recent years, there was missing in the Netherlands actually such an event.

Sander van Zijl, publisher of 4WD Magazine and organizer of the Festival, explains: "In recent years, numerous fellowships and 4x4 evenmenten organized, but a big annual event that shows all facets of the 4WD world was not there anymore. Again and again I received questions from readers and from the market whether we wanted to take the initiative role organizing such a fest again. "

By reviving the 4WD Festival 4WD Magazine will, along with 4WD Travel, meet the demand for a rural 4 x 4 event. "Anyone who is interested in 4x4 cars, will become acquainted with the 4WD world in the broadest sense of the word," said Sander van Zijl.
