The green light to show my 4x4 engagement is not working.

The transfer case is definitely engaging and disengaging.

So I guess it is either the sensor on the transfer case is not sending the signal back to the ECU, or the bulb in the dash is blown.

I tried to get everything in the dash to light up by turning the key to ACC and the result is below :

Hard to take a photo of these lights at night, but basically the 4x4 indicator was not lighting up. This leads me to believe it is the bulb.

Anyone else had the same problem and know the solution? I need to take the dash out eventually to swap the tacho over anyway (diesel -> petrol).

Thanks.

When I had this issue on mine it turned out to be the wiring going into the sensor on the side of the transmission.

Get underneath and wiggle the wires going to the side of the gearbox/transferbox and see if the light comes on. :ugeek:

Start with the simple things.
1, Check fuse,
2, check the wiring as Ben says, wiggle it with someone looking at the light. Look for any damage or corrosion in the plugs (shouldn't be any if they've been mated properly).
3, check the lamp.

Then it's get the meter out and start testing.

Thanks chaps.

I think I will get down there and bridge the wires and see if anything happens.
