Should I be avoiding the "EP Hypoid" rated fluid in the LC Manual Transmission (H151F), or is it all good?

Hypoid oil slowly attacks bronze and brass. I don't know if there is such in an 80 box. I could not get the correct oil as per owners handbook so played safe and bought Toyota.

So the next question is ... are the synchro's in the transmission made from brass?

Separately... would the rating of GL5 indicate that the oil has these additives?
According to the manual the correct oil is:

API GL-4 or GL-5
SAE 75W-90

Are all GL-5 rated oils not EP or Hypoid compatible?

I could not find the correct oil so tried to find out if there was any brass/bronze in the box but could not.

I don't know about oil specs but I think the magic word is "hypoid EP". This must be used where there are hypoid gears; no other oils. The 80 Land Cruiser main box uses a "general purpose gear oil" which I think is unobtainable. I ordered Toyota brand gear oil for my 80. I think the oil was fully synthetic gear oil.
