80 Series - possible handbrake issues?

Good evening All!

I have my MOT due this week and it suddenlt occurred that I had an advisory on the previous MOT regarding the handbrake.

Since then this has not been fixed....why bother it's an Auto?

I've bought a cable & kit from Garry (knowing I'll possibly need it) as the hand brake is now totally non functional.

Was hoping one of you had a similar experience or could tell me what to look for or possibly where to start?

Any help appreciated

It's the same set-up so equally applicable to the 80!

I had an advisory on my previous MOT for the hand brake too ... then it passed just last week without one. Self healing?!

The only thing I did do was pull it on and off hard quite a few times ... not sure if the ones in the 80 are self adjusting or not .. or if it helped it pass. But if you're feeling lazy as i was and or don't have the time ot adjust it's worth a shot.
