Thx, I googled before and got this .... can’t see a difference.

IIRC it is no longer available. Not needed unless you live in VERY cold climate. Can buy a blanking plate and it’s job done. No need to adjust timing or touch anything else.

With out a shadow of a doubt, take it off and throw it in the bin! Fit a new O ring and blanking plate with the correct length of allen bolts.

I have seen the result of a broken one where the pin detached and scored the inside of the pump and it was ruined.

When it was circa -20 my 1hd ft didn't miss a beat, just more important to let the engine warm up before laboring it smashing snow drifts!

I’m leaning towards this solution but who can sell me the o ring and plate ?

Genuine P/N is 096218-0270

Bosch part numbers for the same:
-blanking plate 1461074312
-viton o-ring 2460223001

I imagine any diesel pump specialist would have them

Still available.
About half the price of euro 4x4.

I replaced mine ages ago with a new one.
I like the "choke" effect on winter days.

Easier to buy one, but you can soon knock one up.

Try your nearest diesel specialist. The blanking plate is generic, to a degree and fitted to other pumps plus the pumps on the LC engines will be used on other vehicles. I got one from a local diesel shop for free as he had a few of them lying around.

These are the dimensions I drew up years ago if you want to make one.....

Yep, they got em for $15 bucks. They say they also have a stack of old ve pumps and might be able to get me a fueling pin I can modify. Thanks for the diagram. I’m sure it will be helpful in the future.
