My vehicle has a coded key fob with two metal contacts that have to be connected to the female part on the steering column every time on start-up.

The one coded key packed in this morning for some reason and I am now using the last spare key fob.

I would be inclined to cut this whole unit out of my ignition as it is a pain to use every time on starting.........

Is it relatively simple to snip the unit out of the wiring loom on the column and remove the box unit under the dash without loosing ignition etc. etc.?

Thanks.

Stephen

The hardest problem is finding the relay that is cutting the ignition, starter relay and or fuel solenoid. If you find where the alarm cuts these off then the alarm is just a noise box then.

Got around to cutting out the immobiliser box this morning in the pouring rain and found it a relatively simple exercise of cutting the immobiliser wiring off the main ignition wiring loom and bridging the wiring back with some self crimp terminals. Job done.

Thanks for your posting grantw.

Regards,

Stephen
