So I’m having a bit of trouble finding a condenser for a 1991 80 series, 1hdt engine. Toyota say it’s a discontinued part.
I’ve ordered two from my local motor factors and both were wrong. They were for a later model 80 series that has slightly different connections for the pipes. Anyone able to help me out at all? The part number I’m getting is 88460-60160

This is exactly what I was about to search.

I believe that my 1996 needs part number 88460-60160.

Does anyone have any advice on a generic alternative. Nissens seems to pop up a lot.

Also - Does anyone know the sizes of the o-rings required?

And lastly - should I also be replacing the dryer?

I got my condenser from a local place that recores radiators. Mine was too damaged to repair but they found a replacement for £100.00

Replacements are readily available, certainly for the later models. According to a local AC specialist, Toyota do not make their own condensors and he got me one EXACTLY the same for a sight less ££. The one I have fitted now is also non OEM and has been on 3-4 years now and is still holding gas. Obviously, the position of the condensor means it gets blasted with road crap and salt spray and they just rot out.

I got a handful of O rings from our local AC place so they're easy to come by.
I used 2 sizes which have OD's of 18 and 15.5, both 2.3mm thick.

Yes, change the dryer as it'll help prolong the life of the condensor.

So the part number is the exactly same for early and late 80’s even though they’re different, the early ones have a smaller connection than the later ones with smaller o-rings etc
