Bought a second hand stone bird bath for the garden this afternoon, only cheap but old & very ornate, covered in verdigris & 5hit, cleaned it up to find a crack & it leaks, if i grind the crack open a bit what can i put in it to seal it ?

This stuff is amazing for sealing i put it on my tumbled travertine kind of oatmeal colour floor 6 years ago and though she just made me do it again it didn't need it .You can't tell they have been sealed at all , no shine like most i've used .

It's a liquid silicone so if the crack is to big for it to seal maybe you could dilute some clear tube stuff with it ?

We used this stuff on the stone waterfall/cascade when we had the Koi pond in the garden. The pond started losing water which turned out to be a hairline crack. A couple of coats of this cured it permanently.

If it's just a hairline crack, this might be worth a go, it's very thin and goes a long way so the small size should do it:

I used that the boat (GRP) and it worked great but didn’t have any success with it on the stone waterfall. It just seemed to soak away without filling the crack.
