Looking for any visual reference help I can find from other VM powered BJ73 owners. Specifically Engine bay and dash.

All and any help very gratefully recieved.

Thanks,

OD

A friend has a BJ73 awaiting restoration. It has the 5 cylinder VM which is well and truly fobared. It never ran properly and the heads - all 5 - not savable per the VM specialists. When I enquired several years ago heads were around £260 each plus vat plus a gasket at £30 -all times 5, so if we do it it will have a 3B installed.

But I have some photos for you - below - and I'll photo the dash layout next time I go up to his place. Let me know what you need photos of and I'll try and get them.

I'll also see if I can identify and locate the piece that looks like a front body mount(?). It will probably be the week after next before I go up there. Just work out what you need photo'd and I try.

Several years ago when I had the discussion with the VM Specialist (he's in Derby) he told me that once they have boiled basically the heads are rubbish as the aluminium distorts too much and is usually beyond re-machining but I was talking to him about the 5 cylinder and I don't know if the same applies to the 4 cylinder. However I did take the measurements for him and he was extremely helpful, even though he told me that I had 5 unique door stops!
When I go to my mate's place I'll photo the dash, bulkhead and any other bits that I think will help you.

Regards,
