I've managed to break? no wreck a diff casing..

Its the internal case that the crownwheel bolts onto.
Is it possible to swap out the LSD, if I can't get the right casing, to put in a bog standard open diff?
or does it have to have the complete diff housing?

Anyone got one? cheap? just need to get the 70 working again, so that I can start to spend cash on my new 80.

karl at http://www.landcruiserparts.co.uk may have what you want

pm him on here (karl webster) or use the Ask us form on the site. I have also emailed him a link to this. He has been away working for a few days but think he is back today

Best of luck

Hi Birder, many thanks.
Yes Karl has been in touch, but has an axle but not with a diff, which is really the bit I need.
Well the casing that houses the diff itself.

how did you manage to do that?

ive given mine a lot of abuse so far and havnt managed to break anything yet. :)

i,ve also got the lsd diff i recently took out of mine when i changed it to a locking diff.its a 4.88 ratio from from an 1988 lj70.yours if you want it as its never going to be used by me and its just sitting round taking up space
