So there I was innocently trawling YT for some mindless entertainment when I found this, I think the camera work could do with improvement but one gets the idea we would not be allowed to do participate in this sport in most countries so good on them.

Put this on the Grand Union Canal, would liven a Saturday morning up a bit.

You can still waterski on parts of Loch Lomond. Seen some big V8 engined ski boats on there and they sound awesome. Don't know if there's anywhere in the Lake District where it's still allowed.

A friend of mine had a similar boat to those years ago. It had the Mercury straight 6 they use as the starting point for the F1 boats. From the Mumbles to Oxwich bay on the Gower (S. Wales) on a calm sea, we could ski at 50-60 knots. Without a skier, the boat would pull 70 + with 2 on board.

We would return covered in bruises, at that speed the boat was hitting the water on alternate swell crests, cork-screwing us along. Very exiting, but hard and punishing in every sense.

Skiing behind it was something else! Great memories....

Water skied on various dams in SA myself, fond memories but these guys are just along for the ride it seems, it would be impressive to spectate I suspect.
On that the related videos are also interesting, came across this one from slightly closer up.
