Centre diff lock light on

I got my lc a few months ago, mainly to tow a horse trailer. I noticed the other day that the 4wd lever had been engaged and put it into neutral (I think). At this point the centre diff lock light came on.
Can I drive the car with the diff locked?
How do I unlock it?

Your colorado/prado is permanent 4wd when you push the transfer lever forward you will lock the centre diff lock and a light will come on by the speedo clocks. just pull the lever back and it should unlock. you dont really want to drive on tarmac for miles with the centre diff locked.

Joe, thanks for the reply. I'll put the little stick back where it was and hopefully that will sort it.
