Complete and instant brake failure !

Do you have a tandem master cylinder Shayne . In this case the rear brakes should still work as the main fluid reservoir should be divided in two inside so you should not have lost rear fluid.
 
No idea if its a tandem cylinder or not Frank but i like to see all 4 calipers leaking at once before i start the bleed process in any case , thanks for the thought though :thumbup:

Seen this happen with throttle/choke cables in the past. The earth braid between engine and chassis rots, and the only earth return for the starter is via the metal cables.

Glad to see there was no accident involved, not so sure my 80 hand brake would have brought the car to a stop very quickly.
