It's not good news for those guys, but if you're buying an import, the onus is on you to check that the import was done legally, I suppose.

Some interesting comments there, and some amusing ones too... such as this..

They're clearing suspicious why anyone would want to go through the hassle of importing one when they've already got so many badly built 4x4s on offer from the home market.

Its cos they were imported fraudulently.

On the ferry back from Portugal was a yank who had bought a newish one and was going to import it as a late 80's model - hed bought a clapped out defender for the docs and plates!
